Az leftover permits

I called and got an unconfident answer from Az fish and game so thought I would ask here as well.

Does applying for left over permits, if successfully drawn affect my bonus / preference points?

Not long ago, you used to be able to pick up leftover tags nearly every year and keep building bonus points while still hunting every year... those days are long gone. I feel like an old timer saying this

Doesn’t feel long ago at all, but I guess it’s been close to 10 years now.

I remember waiting in the leftover line in Tucson in 2013 and it was a zoo. 2014 and 2015 seem like some of the last years where there were a lot of hunts available
