Black widow bows

I did the “test drive” on a widow and I think it’s the way to go. I wish I would have went with g10 in the long run for the mass weight but my bow is very purdy!

Mine was the greenwood, cooling grip, 55lb @28”

If I was going to get back into archery I’d get a toelke whip and be done with it.

Most any custom bowyer will mark at 50. Say you get a 45 at 28, they will mark it 50 if you would like.
May affect resell value if its off- but an easy honest fix is to say 50# at 30"

I went to the Shop in Nixa last year and shot a few bows they had there. It really helps deciding on a grip and overall fit if you aren't familiar. I also tried some carbon limbs and liked them.

I still haven't ordered one yet... just waiting for the right time in life to make the commitment to a stickbow :)

I love my Black Widow but I rarely put in the effort required to shoot it well, being about 61# on my fingers. The craftsmanship is fantastic and it's my favourite bow to look at out of all the ones I own. It's a PCH in Ironwood.

I've been on a big ILF kick lately and have barely touched any of my wood bows. The adjustability available with springy rests and tiller bolts is just too much fun and I can get a more solid tune without having to agonise as much over how much I've cut my arrow.

I've got some arrows that are tuned for the Widow now so later in the year I intend on taking some critters with it. I'm looking forward to that. 565gn doing about 175fps I believe.

On the topic of Wyoming draw weight regs, I have never had a G&F official ask to check. All interactions are on good terms though.

Don't do things that would make a warden want to find something wrong with you, eg hunt in wilderness as a NR without a guide, and you should be fine with a bow a few pounds below 50.

My go-to bow for about the last 15 yrs has been a 60" PSA 54lb @ 28 with a low wrist grip, ironwood riser and olive ash limbs. I've shot a few other bows on and off, but when I want to hit the easy button for accuracy, I always come back to the Widow. I'm currently on their build list for a 62" PSA.

Wood selection and insert options are really just personal preference. I personally don't like any inserts in my bows and would either go with a strap on or limb bolt mounted quiver. It also makes resell easier if you decide it's not for you. I'm lucky enough to only live about an hour and a half from their shop so it's easy for me. If I didn't, I'd spend some time on their social media and I'm sure something will jump out at you.

I bet that’s a pretty bow, Be been looking at a few on line where I can find pictures right now this one has caught my eye…Greenleaf and Elm woodIMG_8183.jpeg

Anywhere in that 46-50 range is perfect. BW is +/-4# I think? I would just make it 50 for a nice round number but everyone likes it a little different
