I think the long risers on many of the Mathews bows add stability and forgiveness at the shot. The larger cams also reduce string angle, moving the peep closer to your eye and giving you the feel of a longer a2a bow. With that said, I compete all year long with the TRX 38 so I like a longer bow anyway. I shot the V3X 33 last year and am shooting the Phase 4 33 this year. As a Mathews dealer, I'm lucky to be able to try a new model almost every year. The most accurate hunting bow I ever shot was the Mathews Rival Pro with a 40" a2a and an 8' brace height. I could run faster than an arrow shot from that bow but it truly hit behind the pin.
I like the 32-34 range as well. Been shooting bowtech reign 7 for a number of years which is 32 5/8" and picked up a v3x 33 last year. Not sure it can unseat the reign yet..
