Athlon Rangecraft Chronograph at S&S Archery

My favorite find from shot show is a new chronograph from Athlon, The Rangecraft velocity pro.. It does have a larger, easier to view screen than the Garmin. We expect these to be shipping in April. Price will be 349.99, and we will start taking pre-orders tomorrow.

We will be getting a demo for testing here in a few weeks so you can expect some detailed content from S&S on our YouTube channel.

I am very interested in your testing. Garmin has many years of experience in GPS, but Athlon does not. I love their scopes, but I would like to know who is doing the software for this product.

Just heard from my rep. No changes at this point. Still looking at a mid April ship date.

What does this offer over the Garmin other than a bit cheaper? It looks like a clone.

We have not had one available to fully test at the range yet, but having my hands on one at Shot Show, the device has a bigger screen, more buttons and will have more functionality within the Athlon Ballistics app. For instance you'll be able to save sessions to specific rifle profiles. The Athlon uses the same technology that Garmin uses, so it should perform the same. Once we get a production model, you can count on us for a detailed comparison test.
At this point, i do not know when we'll be receiving a production model. Hopefully soon, its not for a lack of me pressuring my Athlon rep!

I do wish the Garmin had some better software features. I hoped those would be released at a later date.

Just found out that we'll be getting more than i expected on our first shipment. So the estimated shipping date for new orders will still be mid April, and I have updated the website.
