Armslist

I’ve never had any issues with armslist. The only scams I’ve seen are usually too good to be true deals. I just bought my .22 nosler from a shop in Colorado last summer. Just like anything online, a little due diligence goes a long way

Anyone have a membership that would get me contact info for this seller?

Not to hijack, I used to use Armslist as well, but yeah it got shady quick

but...

What are people using to sell firearms locally besides here/LRH? doing consignments? would be interested in any local forums to CO.

The Colorado forum I have found sucks compared to other states. For local sales I have consigned at a local gun store that only charges $10. The other local alternative takes 15%.

in Montana we have https://montanaguntrader.com

very good site, I've sold three firearms through it, very easy to use and all the sales went smoothly.

it's free, but they encourage donations (or to use a "premium" ad-$7 I think) to keep it running- which I always have

I just bought a month. First time I've used it is since you had to pay. I say a rifle I was interested in locally. What sucks is they don't show price. So I ran the risk of the guy wanting stupid amount. Price was right I bought it.

Today I sold gun. First offer was about 2 minutes up, about 50 miles away.. 45-60 minutes later a guy close by, and sold it.

30-06 isn't getting nibbles. But it is the wrong time of year maybe.

You an cancel the subscription ahead of time, and it will expire when the times up. I did two weeks early, but you could probably do it 15 minutes after paying for it.

Thanks for the heads up on this. I have a few things I will probably put on there.

So do you meet guys at an FFL or just do a bill of sale? I've sold a lot of bows on AT, but never guns
Any info is appreciated
Cheers.

Depends on your state. In WI the government is not involved in the private sales of guns. Some states it is for handguns, some for all.

I just meet people, and trade cash for guns.

I bought and sold a few things on there. Stay local and make sure to follow ALL local and federal laws. Background checks are required for all transfers here in CO, and it's amazing how many people want to buy your pistol until they have to do a background check. Scary.

There was a guy one time who wanted to buy a rifle from me. Told him before we met that a background check was required. He said "No problem" and we met at the gun store. He then claimed he had a C&R license and didn't need a background check because the gun was old enough (by 1 year). My gut just didn't feel right, and I told him we had to do the check for my peace of mind. I even offered to pay for it. He acted all offended, then left.

Moral of the story, I've had some good interactions on armslist and met some good people. But BE CAREFUL!

Bought several rifles and other items off armslist when i was working before subscription required. Plenty of scams but easy enough to tell what is a scam.
best buy was @700 .264 bullets @ .12 cents each. Nosler Sierra Speer

Be very careful with Armlist. I have bought several things there but had to tease out scammers and confirm the identity of the seller via other means such as their website, or direct phone calls
