I have a 6.5’ ARE truck cap in good condition
Fits ford f150 6.5’ beds
Seals are water tight but the window frames have some cracking and some of the carpet liner was removed by a Labrador. Purely cosmetic
Otherwise great shape and does what it’s supposed to do
I’m going to sell it but have no idea what it might be worth.
Anyone have a ballpark

Is this a ARE fiberglass cap? New these are well north of $2000. In my zip code, for a common recent-model truck, these are worth a LOT more than $200. Also, parts and repair are available if thats a sticking point.
As described it sounds like its pretty beat up. These go within a day or two from craigslist at $500-750 around me. In really good condition they will fetch over $1000. $200 gets you a 20+ year old cap without windows that fits a truck that in all likelihood rusted into the ground years ago.

These seem pretty typical, where I live I see similar. Probably depends where you are, too.

Etc.

Super hard to sell (need great luck).

I’ve bought some used in past and tried to sell some in past (when I got a new truck or sold a truck) and they are tough to sell.

They are valuable but so many variables to fit a persons truck. Color, year, length, make/model all have to be perfect for right person.

Can’t ship em or super expensive.

They are valuable and right person will pay - but just hard to find that right person in the right location.

I’ve been tried to essentially give them away at some point and couldn’t even do that

Not trying to discourage you - but just to inform you.

If someone wants it & haggles on price - just TAKE THE MONEY + run

I have bought 2 used over the years. The length, color, etc AND local really drops the value and potential buyers.
I visited a topper and accessories store for the STL area recently. They are who ends up with dealer trade ins since car lots don't usually want the shell on while selling.
My recent ARE shell was bought for $1000 on marketplace and was only 2 years old. The truck I am using had to wait two years until the right one appeared. Very happy with it.

Depends what state you’re in. Seems anywhere that gets snow prices will go up as fall and winter demand increases.

It really depends on the condition of the cap but the if it’s a more streamlined one that matches the body lines $500-800 and the generic caps $100-300 in my area.

I've been searching for the right one for my 2016 Tundra 6.5'. And they seem to sell immediately when they pop up. I've seen maybe two dozen over the last 2+ years, and they're gone quickly. There was one up in Windsor a couple years ago that matched my paint and he sold his for $2k the day he listed it. I've even tried to buy them off used trucks listed for sale. And the sellers don't budge.

The short bed Tundra toppers are like a dime a dozen though, lots of those around. Those and older generations.
