I've contacted several outfitters with the same goal. Most won't do archery hunts. I guess the risk is too high for them . There was one that does baited sites, but that's not my cup of tea.

Scott Mileur on Kodiak. I believe Scott took one himself with a bow. Call him and lay out your desires. He's honest as they come.

Your picking an outfitter who is skilled at taking bow hunters is more important than where you hunt.

I'll throw out Cole Kramer and Lance Kronberger as well. Cole guided Lee Lakosky to a giant on video and Lance guided Brendan Burns to two giants on video on the peninsula. You can search on YouTube for inspiration.

Is Lance the guide who repeatedly says he hates bow hunters, while guiding a bow hunter? 😂 I think that was during the hunt they got to within 50 yards of a giant but it wasn’t a good enough opportunity for someone with a bow. Great video

Depends if you’re looking at spring or fall. I’ve guided both places and guided archery hunters on the peninsula. Fall hunts hands down I’d do the peninsula. The season is three weeks earlier and salmon much more abundant. Spring, I would do Kodiak. They are two different places for sure. Bears are pretty much the same. Average a shade over 8’ in both places. But both have the potiental for 10’ bears. Pick an outfit who is small, so there’s a better Chance of an area to relocate to if you’re not seeing bears. The peninsula is a three week season and some outfits run MASSIVE amounts of clients to try and make their money in those three weeks. Like up to and over 25 clients. That takes up a lot of ground, pretty much every landing strip around. Then your stuck to “your” spot for the duration of your 35,000 dollar hunt.
