If Joe Biden were elected king I’d be worried, but with a 50/50 Senate and the risk of losing House seats in 2022, I don’t think there’s any serious congressional appetite to tackle gun control. Remember, the #1 job of any elected politician is winning re-election.

Remember all the talk of repeal and replace in 2016? It all went nowhere because no matter what a Presidential candidate promises, they’ve got to get it through Congress to deliver. Any executive orders on the matter are going to run up against a 6-3 Supreme Court.

So no, I’m not worried about confiscation.

The most realistic analysis in this thread. Thank you. I agree.

If they start going house to house for guns and folks let em, then we've lost our freedom.

Gun control plan on the Biden campaign website. Worth a read.

I expect they will move on some low hanging fruit - pistol braces, background system modifications, etc. - that can be done by executive order. ATF has already put out and withdrawn a comment letter on certain pistol braces. They will probably move forward in the next year.

two greatest concerns / issues for me will be NFA treatment for semi auto rifles and or magazines (registration and tax stamp) and a ban on internet sales of guns and ammo.

NO, thanks anyway but I am doing just fine with the gun laws as they are. Taxes for rifles or mags? thanks but NO.

These people embolden anarchists to rampage and then want my semi auto's? That is the funniest thing I have heard in a while.......Just Say No. Show some balls.
Didn't we already pay Pitman Roberson tax🤔

Not really sure how they think more taxes will help illegal crime ether.

Socialist domination to what they want.
I hope they push really hard. There reeling us in 1 link at a time.
They need to force the majority of our population back on our heals really shock the masses,, that way we can stand together in force.

Look for "gunshow loophole", universal background checks, hi cap magazines, and 80% lowers/frames as the test cases.

If these go positively, there will be an increased push.

I would implore anyone on here that likes their freedoms to back a gun owners group. NRA, GOA, a local one, doesn't matter. Pick one. Litigation is a critical part of our defense.

Be vocal.

Some one mentioned a 6-3 supreme court. I'm thinking it is more like a 5-4 or 4-5 court. Hopefully Justice Thomas has some kind of security detail.

His detail is probably armed to the teeth with AR's and high capacity mags and pistols.

But why would they need that?

The Senate is not 50/50, it is 50/50+1 with the vice-president's a party in control.

Your clarification is correct but doesn't change my overall assessment. Any meaningful legislation still requires 100% buy-in from the Democratic senators or Republican defectors because that +1 only comes in to play if there are already 50 votes in favor. If he could wave a magic wand, I think Biden would absolutely enact sweeping gun control. But he can't, and I don't believe he will make it a priority ahead of things like economic stimulus, infrastructure, and healthcare reform.

In 2008 everyone was discussing the sweeping gun control measures that Obama would put in place since Democrats controlled the House and Senate, but we made it through all eight years intact. Of course that didn't stop everyone from panic buying anything more powerful than a cap gun. He's probably still the world's #1 gun salesman.

I've been wrong before, but the OP asked if I was concerned and frankly, I'm not.
Well you should be
The Dems don't think for themselves or break party rank
You better believe they're coming for our 2nd ammendment

I don't think they will directly confiscate ar's. There are too many and logistically it wouldn't be possible. However I think they will tax them very heavily . Then pass laws to register them. If you dont register, you will be a felon. Which felons can't own guns period. Plus they will go after making it illegal for "mentally unstable" to own guns. Dr's will "determine" who is mentally unstable which is why the govt wants control of the medical system making Doctors govt employees by default. My guess is anyone waving an don't tread on me flag will be considered mentally unstable. Maybe even someone waving an American flag. My guess is there will be an unprecedented amount of oppression towards gun owners in trying to silence their free speech.

Finally I don't think Republican will be win enough elections to ever regain the house or Senate. I don't trust the election process nationally anymore. I think free and open elections are a thing of the past

somewhere along this line. first they have to know what is out there and that will require registration.

the fight was joined years ago, but many did not believe ....... and sadly some still dont believe.

I don't have an allegiance to a king (at least an earthly one), a tyrannical government, or unconstitutional laws. But I do have an allegiance to the nation and the Constitution and will support and defend both at all costs. I remember maybe 8 years ago when I told my family that if they ever "came for the guns", that I would send them out the back and fight to the end. My oldest daughter said "Dad, we'd expect nothing less from you".

So, you purchased one before, NEVER used it, and then sold it......and now you want to purchase another expensive one, so that no one takes THAT one away from you? 🤔 As posted above, "At the end of the day that's a decision that you will have to make for yourself."
Yes, I sold it for more then I paid for it, quite a bit more actually. A deal I couldn’t pass up. It was not taken from me.
