Fine reticles don’t bother me either. The MOAR-T was designed to be a thinner option to the MOAR. In Theory, the regular MOAR in these will be 1/4 the size of a SFP MOAR-T at minimum mag.

I’m pretty confident I don’t understand how this works at all btw lol. I just know that FFP reticles in 3x/4x zoom scopes are hard enough to see at low powers, these reticles have to be useable across an 8x zoom range.
I get ya. I was worried about the same thing before I bought my first higher powered scope. I have been using 6-24 mag range for the last 4 years. In the terrain I hunt it's just fine. This last season I had a jump shot at 80yds. I put it on him and squeezed, he took a tumble and I put a final one in him to seal the deal. I wouldn't have mattered if I could read the reticle at that range. There is no holding for wind or dope at that range, its irrelevant. I just need to know where crosshairs/center is at close range.

I'm going to guess NF made a typo when stating the weights as one is 1.5" longer with same diameter tube and objective but weights both listed as 28 oz. hoping the 20x is 24-25 oz.

I'd have to think its the other way around (bigger one being heavier than 28 ounces).

Goddamn these look sweet!

Yeah I don’t mean the measurement on the reticle, I mean the reticle itself. 6-24 is still just a 4x range, half of what the reticle will need to cover in the 2.5-20 scope. Let’s says the reticle size is centered in the mag range. That would mean that the NX8 at 2.5x would have a reticle half as thick as yours at 6x and twice as thick at 20x as yours at 24x. IF the reticle is sized so that both are the same thickness at max mag, then the reticle at 2.5x would be a quarter of the size of yours at 6x.

I just hope they prove me wrong because I’d love a 2.5-20 NF!

I've wanted this scope from nightforce for a really long time. On paper it's about as perfect as you could get given certain limitations. And from a company who has basically defined reliability. It will be interesting to see what real world experience brings. I'll gladly send them my money to find out.

As far as FFP at low mag, it's not going to necessarily be a good duplex reticle look. Some manufacturers/reticles do better than others. Out of the three I have bushnell does the best with their LRHS. March isn't too bad at 3x either. My NF ATACR at 4x is the hardest of the three. However, in my hunting experience I have a hard time seeing how it would be that big of a detriment. And yes my opinion is molded from a time I killed a spike elk at 10 yards with not much time to react.

I never got the issue with fine reticles at close range. I’ve taken multiple (4 off the top of my head) inside 70 yards off hand with ffp scopes on low mag. Heck at that distance I could center them in the scope and shoot them without a crosshair....
Glad to see NF offer a non ocular rotating zoom ring, sub 30 oz 10 Mil/rotation, FFP/capped windage ED glass optic with a 20X+ max zoom. Anybody know total elevation travel on each?

If anybody gets a look through one, does the optic still have the “tunnel” effect on the low end of the mag range like their other high mag scopes? One thing I never liked about my 5-25 Enhanced C555 ATACR, from about 5-8x the fov never changed it just tunneled closer and the black inside of the scope tube just got smaller never actually increasing the mag range or FOV.
