2.5-20 would be a big range. Though the 1-8 NX8 has an 8x zoom level. An NX8-like scope but with a 32, 42 or 44mm obj would get my attention.

I am just guessing from the many rumors I have heard. It could be a 3-18.

No worries. Wouldn’t expect anyone to reveal specifics. I’m scoping a couple rifles now so just interested in whether something could be forthcoming.

FWIW, a slightly bigger brother to the NX8 could be a very cool hunting scope. 1-8x32/36/42, 2-16x42, 2.5-20 etc. keep total weight at or below ~21oz.

This is interesting. I am looking to pick up one more hunting scope and in the last few days I have been in a handful of shops and poking around online - lots of SHVs on sale. I haven't ever seen NF scope sale prices that I can remember.

New article in Precision Rifle Shooter details the new Nightforce scope. Two new versions of NX8, 2.5-20x50 and 4-32x50. 30mm tube and 28 oz for both with MSRP of $1950 and $2150. It also looks like mils and first focal plane.

No option in MOA?

2.5-20 is an awesome mag range. If it’s as reliable as the other NF scopes and has usable glass, eye box, fov and reticle choices suitable for hunting, they might have a winner. 28oz isn’t a lightweight but it’s still better than the NXS and especially the ATACR.

It's in print format, so no link. You can see some screenshots of the article over on Snipershide in the optics forum though.

I would hope they make one in MOA, but in the article it is detailed as mils.

Gotta day I am a bit disappointed. I am sure it will be great coming from Nightforce, but I am still searching for the best lightweight option for my hunting rig.

I was hoping for something with a 14-15x max zoom, capped windage, exposed elevation and sub 21oz.

I agree! That mag range is right in my wheelhouse! I'm not going to get my hopes up too much before it comes out though.

I too think it will be great for those interested. There is a lot to like there.

A 2-16x42, or even the 1-8 but with a 32 or 42 objective, at a max of about 21oz would suit me better though. 21-22oz is hard enough for me to justify, I’m just not ready for 28oz. Not for the mountains anyway. I still remember how steep the mountains are.

I want a 5-30 at 23oz and 2.5-15 as light as a church fart! That dials like a NF and has Swaro glass...... Still waiting and probably have a better chance of Pelosi being Trumps VP in 2020.

But I hold my breath that Maven delivers on the 5-30.

Exactly my thoughts as well, though I am more interested in the lower magnification, there are a lot of great scopes at 26-30 oz. I still am holding out hope, but not much more than you.

So, did NF have an agreement for Precision Rifle Shooter to be the first to reveal, or did they jump the gun on a date to reveal?

Anybody have any insight into what kind of reticles will be available for this new NF?
