I have heard that canned chicken dehydrates better than non-canned chicken?

True?
Definitely. If you try dehydrating regularly cooked chicken it ends up stringy and tough when attempting to re-hydrate. I buy the large Costco/Kirkland cans and use it in my meals. You can also pressure cook chicken and dehydrate.
Interestingly the ghee I have been using jar says refrigeration not necessary..so there is a good fat source.
A carnivore Buddy uses ghee when backpacking. He's survived for many days on just venison jerky and ghee. On regular days out he's toting butter. Ghee sometimes leaves me with a semi unpleasant burping and taste that comes with it. I can deal with it but for some reason butter doesn't cause it. You might try it first and see.

I made pemmican hockey pucks for my hunt 2 years ago, They are very easy to make. One trick i found was instead of eating them alacarte, i dropped it in my freeze dried meal bag before i poured my hot water in. It all basically mixed together and the flavor from the meal masked the blecky taste of the pemmican.

I bought some single ghee packs and would drop one of those in the bag with it too. Very dense dinner, really put me to sleep
