My son has landed quite a few nice trout for his age, I started backpacking with him at 4 years old and he loves it!! We are going this weekend and will hopefully get into the brook trout.

Just got back from Minnesota. The weather was crap half the time but we still caught fish. I didn’t do as much adult fishing as I have in the past since the kids wanted to go so much. Hard to argue with that. We ate a bunch of panfish and worked on teaching them how to jig and troll. It’s progress.

Lots of awesome pics. Anyone have any different ways you like to cook your fish? Walleye. Shore lunch , regular or cajun. Sometimes Panko breadcrumbs. Usually pretty simple deep frying. Small amount of homemade tartar sauce on the side or cocktail sauce ( heavy on the horseradish ). Not sure if this ventures into "cooking" thread ,but sure enjoying pics (it's making me hungry! )

Here's one of my son with a not-your-average-fish, a snakehead.
Although they're becoming far more average here on MD's eastern shore. Things have invaded every brack water area and getting into every nearby pond.
As ugly and slimy as they are, they are by far the best eating fish in the state, not counting off-shore species
