Another Social Media "Star" Caught

Until the brands supporting them start to see it effecting their sales they’ll continue to support them. I try not to spend my money on any company that supports guys like this and the Bomars. And when I see other “influencer hunters” like and support guys that have been caught I lose all respect for those people as well.

Several years ago I posted here on Rokslide that I would no longer be supporting Black Ovis due to affiliation with Muley Freak and I still stand by that declaration. They will never see another dollar from me regardless of what they do now. Apparently not enough other people feel the same way because they continue to sell the MF brand. At this point I don't think anything will change via social media backlash. All these insta-poachers have to do is weather the legal and SM storms until people forget or move on to the next story at which point they will continue their shady "business" as usual.

#2 will never purchase from Black ovis or camo fire again. Havent in something like 5 years now.

Here is another poaching case with Casey Jensen. He is a child abuser and a poacher.

"Sheldon and Jensen, both 26, started a company called Killshot Productions, which the advertised as a guide and hunting video business. The men filmed themselves illegally killing or shooting at sage grouse, turkey, bear, deer and elk."
Killshot Productions, can you get any more lame? They should pay a fine just for the name. Social media is a scourge, it ruins everything it touches.

Hunting has had a rhetoric problem for a very long time. Some of the names companies come up with is mind bogglingly idiotic. What is even more disheartening is how these stupid names are embraced by the buying public.

We need to blow this up on instagram. Shame the companies that stand behind these guys
I’ve tried multiple times sending emails and messages to companies informing them. Nothing ever comes of it really i still see muley freaks booth always busy at the expo. I did message gohunts shop about them carrying muley freaks merch and they thanked me and took it off the shop.

Congrats to the wardens that made these cases.

It would be fanciful to say these are just isolated incidents; sadly for every good case that is made, dozens go undetected.

Shame on the companies that still stay behind these poachers.
A little off topic, but........

What helps turn this tide, in your opinion? I live in an area where this is certainly the reality, and some areas I would say are probably dangerous for our local wardens to operate alone.

More tips from the public? Simply more staffing? Just something I've been curious about

There needs to be a task force of some sort put together at a national level that just focuses on social media influencers that make money from hunting content. I bet they would find a shocking amount of game violations from A LOT of these channels.

I'm sure the wardens are stretched thin, it gets discouraging on the law abiding hunter's side as well. I've tried to call and report violations twice in WY, I couldn't even get a call back. I called multiple times, office number and a tip line, left detailed messages, nothing...

Agreed, the companies that continually stand behind them are worse in my mind. I haven't done any business with blackovis in years, that used to be my go to store for odd and end stuff. I tell anyone who will listen not too as well. There seems to be a big concentration in Utah, the hunting industry there seems to have a circle the wagons and wait it out approach instead of policing their own. Makes you wonder...

I watched two guys lay into a herd of bucks a few years ago in Wyoming from cross canyon. There were at least 4 hit and probably 5. They were shooting for probably 15 minutes must have gone through 20-30 rounds. I called it in and the warden hiked out there and met me. We both looked for those two wounded bucks for hours and couldn’t find them; you could tell she was incredibly invested and we each put in a couple miles zig zagging through brush looking for the wounded bucks. Never did find them or enough evidence but she tore those hunters a new one and they were sweating watching us look for blood and tracks.

I think it depends on who you get ahold of and how busy they are with other calls.

I’ve watched a lot of Martin Chagnovich shed hunting videos, and every time that Conner guy was on there, he always gave the creepiest vibe.
