Ammo purchase in new mexico

I have family going to and living in New Mexico, do they have all the crap restrictions and background checks to buy ammo ?

i would say bring your own. Nothing specific to NM but everywhere I have traveled has been rough. I wouldn’t want to bet my hunt on being able to find the right ammo when I land. My local Wally World has 17hmr, bird shot and a few odds and ends. Sporting goods shops are not much better. 9mm, when you find it, is going for $0.50 to $0.70 a round for training grade ball ammo.

I have some 30-06 180 Hornady SST in the Santa Fe area if in a pickle on a hunt. Not a lot but enough for a hunt. Not sure if that is the issue or you were talking long term.

New Mexico is a terrible place, possibly one of the worst places in the entire country but no, they don't have any laws like that regarding ammo.

First you have to register with a firearm to your present address, The every time you purchase you have to have a background check
And next youll have to submit to annal probing and have a chip implanted.
