So, diff POV....I have been on the side of 2, yes 2, questionable trades here.
1- was looking for an EXO K2 and pack 2 years ago. Guy PM's me, I make what I 'think' is a great deal on a setup. Pack/bag not comfy at all. Call EXO for some help....its an older model frame, not a K2. I reach out to the guy and he responds, 'I never stated it was a K2 specifically'...……..he knew what he was doing. I sold it for a $45 loss and was transparent with the buyer.
2- Bought a Kifaru 22" frame that was supposed to be in 'very good' condition. Had a few pics, looked 'ok'. Arrived filthy and looked like it had been rolled off a cliff. 'very good is very subjective'...….

I had 1 instance, where I sold a guy on here a package deal and I misquoted the yoke size.....no wander it never fit me correctly, I was sent the wrong size from the manufacturer.....I offered and provided a full refund, including shipping...….

I would do what it takes to 'make it right'. Is he being unreasonable, probably so, but I would rather it be on his conscience than mine.

Best of luck!

I recently sold a pack(bag only). I used the pack once don't remember packing out an animal with it but could have. He gets the pack says there is some blood inside the pack and I forgot to mail the bottom straps that attach to the frame. I am gone bear hunting for a week so I get lots of emails from him which I can understand. Tanya sees them tell him I am gone hunting will respond when I get home. I get home, talk to him, send the straps. He gets the straps and is mad it doesn't have the velcro straps bands. Now I am mad and so is he. I tell him to send it back and I will refund his money and the shipping back to me. The pack sales for $330, I sold it to him for $235. IMO the pack is in great shape even if it has blood or dirt on it.

Am I being unreasonable? What would you as a seller have done?
just refund it and sell it to someone who appreciates what it is for the price.

So what you are saying is you have a pack for sale? Please post more details.

On a serious note, his job to clarify condition, if he wanted perfect shoulda bought new! I have had a bunch of great transactions on here, buying and selling, just need to do your homework.

I would just get the pack back and give a refund. Not worth the headache from an honest mistake.

Resell it but add 10 bucks to your price due to the blood stains, as that adds character to the pack.

I sold a bag on here and forgot to send the buckles that attach to the sides of the frame (Kifaru). When I bought the pack it was all attached so I didn’t know what goes with the bag and what stays with the frame. I felt bad, as I wasn’t intentionally screwing him. When I removed the bag it simply never occurred to me to unclip the other half of the buckle. I sent him the four. Live and learn.

Not to hijack but- Hey- my company actually performs this service. We usually fill 6-8 tags a year and we use 2 Brand new packs for each hunt and pack out- then resell those packs for about 25-45% markup over retail depending on the hunt and what we packed out with it. Basically we sell the appearance of experience and expertise. Which for some guys is priceless. All packs will be “like new” but for the stains, aromas, we provide as well as pictures of the pack out and certificate of authenticity.

Hey- I know we don’t have a sponsorship deal with rokslide so if you need to delete this post no hard feelings.

I lost 3 of my velcro strap bands the first time I took my pack out. And as far as blood stains, I would rather get one with blood stains on it because people tend to sell them at a lesser price. Why would I care about blood stains on a pack? As long as its not crusty nasty smelling, its just a stain.

eh, missing straps seem to be an honest mistake and easily fixed by sending them to him

on the pack, doesn't seem intentional, but does seem misrepresented if there is blood, stains, etc in or on it. i haven't had the pleasure of packing out an elk yet so i guess when i see 'used' i'm just thinking it was used for backpacking etc and would never guess it had blood or stains on or in it. some scuff marks, sure. i'd just apologize for the accidental under-disclosure and either pay for it to be returned or see what $ refund would make him happy.

I would have washed a used pack regardless, so not sure why the blood was a big deal. A used hunting pack with blood isn't that unusual IMO. Stuff gets bloody sometimes. I just washed my bino harness because I noticed it had blood on it from last season. You gave him the option to keep or send back with a refund, so I think you are holding up your end. He should buy new and pay full price next time.

I actually tried to buy some pants off Ryan a few years back. I had a question, so he actually gave me his number and told me to call him. He answered my questions and told me these were not the pants I was looking for. He easily could have told me “yup, these will work for you” and made a sale. My guess is if this guy would have acted in a reasonable fashion, Ryan would have had no problem making the situation right.

I'd send him everything he's asking for and a stuff sack, gratis.

Then next December, I'd post a video of me rubbing my balls all over his straps and stuff sack.

Every used pack I buy is missing something. I'm usually busy being pissed at kifaru's shipping charges for the straps and buckles.

I guess I'm under the wrong impression with the classified section here. I always thought it was stuff leftover from a season where everyone bought the latest and greatest thing some social media personality was touting thinking they would hunt, then they decided not to. So they are selling it because it's golf season now and they need funds.

Wait that's a different outlet.....
