Am I out of line?

I traded a Nightforce SHV for a Sig Whiskey 5, expecting the Gen 2, received the Gen 1. The seller had said he had the same scope as the one Justin Reviewed here in an article. So when he offered to send pics I said no worries.

Learned my lesson but I didn’t bitch about and it easily could of been he didn’t realize the differences.

Once sold a kifaru pack as used in good condition and threw in an Exo lid and kifaru lid. Sold the entire package for less then the bag cost new by about 15%.

Didn’t even think about the fact the shoulder straps on the Kifaru lid had been cut, he complained that I didn’t tell him and he never asked if anything had been modified. He was pissed cause he had resold the lid for almost full price. I offered to give him a full refund if he returned everything. Never heard back from him.

Was I wrong?

Truthfully I’ve stopped selling stuff here, I just give it away to buddies now. There are few long time members here I’ll hit up and see if their interested in stuff but I’m done selling in the classifieds.

The first 3 or 4 years the classifieds were great here and I always did PayPal friends and family, that has changed as well.

Seems to be a lot of guys here that sell gear as new. Meaning they never kill much. How do they know the bag they bought isn’t what they want if they never put it to work? Or, it appears that many swap around just to try other things. Who knows?

What I do know is when I buy a used pack, I expect to be informed if it’s been modified, has holes, loose stitching, etc... Other then that, it used and I expect it to show signs of it. Blood cleans right up. No biggie to me.

It is not unreasonable to expect the item to come complete with all the parts. If something is missing, just ask about it and resolve. Complain about blood stains on a used pack? You gotta be kidding right?

You handled it as well as you reasonably could. Some people are just...!!! I hope you have taken care of the situation completely. I mostly sell gear just to get it out of my way and know it’ll get used. It would rub me wrong to feel accused of being less than honest.

Sometime people just assume things come with something, sold a Outdoorsmans head and they guy bitched it didn’t have a qr plate. I had to inform him Outdoorsmans doesn’t include one. Maybe the straps should have been included maybe not but wouldn’t bother me if they were not as they are dirt cheap to get.

I guess I just am more easy going then some.
