I haven't read the whole thread so not sure if it was mentioned. But when I was working 65 hrs a week and under a ton of stress I was tired all the time.

I started working out and running consistently and my energy levels sky rocketed. If I woke up and ran 4 miles before going to work, you would think I would be exhausted by the end of a 10 hour.

The opposite was true. The more I worked our. The less stress I felt and the more energy I had.

I’m right in the middle of a move but in 3 weeks once I move and hopefully am settled in I plan on getting up early to either walk/run before I get to work. I also plan to tell my employees that I’ll be doing scheduling the prior day/night so i actually have time to get up and do this haha

I'm 6'7" also and weigh right at 235. Have weighed that for the last 10 years. I didn't read the whole thread but sounds like you are going to prioritize working out. Personally I'd look hard at weight training and some type of aerobic work. Make it a priority to get back to 225-230. Hope you get feeling better. Feeling drained of energy isn't a great thing.

FYI everybody:

Synthetic testosterone can often , (but not always) lead to sterility.
Your Doctor likely won't tell you about that.
You can write off pharmaceutical side effects if you like, but I will live with negative side effects from miss treatment of pharmacological drugs prescribed by a Doctor likely for the rest of my life.
Further more miss diagnosis and reactions to pharmaceutical drugs account for the second or third, (I forget which) highest cause of death in the US. And that is the accepted figures from a (medical) industry policing itself.
You shouldn't be flippent with drugs or medical advice and/or treatment.

Anyway, the good stuff...

In tact wild male boar produce in their balls a natural steroid. I believe nandrolone.
It resides mostly in their balls, but is present in high amounts throughout their muscle meat.
So you see fellas, one of the solutions is more hunting and species *management* That's a resource we want around.
In ancient European cultures the wild boar was venerated as an animal of strength and war. Some legends would even ride them into battle. Perhaps they knew eating boar got them more pumped than eating other game.
Pastured pig do not contain this natural steroid however do have a healthy (for us) omega fat profile which is also important for our hormonal health, unlike grain feed pigs which have higher omega 6 levels which isn't good.

I'm 34... been feeling the same as you describe for years... finally heard enough to get my testosterone tested, and i was way low.

Sad truth is that almost all males are below their natural T serum levels these days. There are so many endocrine disruptors and synthetic estrogens in our environment it takes a lot of effort to avoid them all. But, you can reduce a lot of the big ones:

1. Get rid of plastic in your kitchen and your plastic water bottles. NEVER heat food in anything plastic. Use glass or steel instead.

2. Work out every day, even if it's just a 15 minute body weight circuit at home. Lack of activity contributes hugely to low T.

3. Wash your hands after handling receipt paper. It has a ton of BPA on it.

4. Avoid oxybenzone. Applying sunscreen or chapstick with this on it actively destroys your body's endocrine balance.

Wife thinks it’s a thyroid issue because my mom, grandpa and grandma all have/had them

I’ve had hypothyroidism since about 17 (64 now). I felt like what you’re describing back then and a couple of times in the intervening time when the then current doctor decided to drop my dosage. I’d definitely have your thyroid checked.

Testosterone or thyroid, unless theres an underlying familial condition.
Get a complete blood work up.
Diet has many effects on the body. Get the work up first though.

We live a healthy lifestyle and practice most of these things already. Curious if you have a recommendation for non plasting carrying pf water while hunting or backpacking.

I carry a Hydro Flask. The several ounce weight penalty of that vs a Nalgene is worth avoiding the chemical exposure to me, and having a vacuum sealed bottle to keep water cool is nice

I was thinking maybe aluminum. We are aware of the issues with exposure to heavy metals but I haven't researched effects if drinking out-of aluminium.

There has been some research associating aluminum and Alzheimer's, but I think that mostly involves cooking at temps that cause the aluminum to shed micro flakes. A stainless Hydro Flask presents neither concern.

David Canterbury, at Self reliance outfitters. Pathfinder stainless steel or titanium canteen sets.
The stainless sets have plastic lids, but with a stainless steel cap on the inside of the lid meaning the water doesn't come into contact with plastic.
The titanium canteen lids are solid titanium.

The titanium canteens are lighter, the stainless steel is more robust.
Both are very good.

^pair that with a fish mouth opener and you can hang it or remove it from a fire easily. Boiling water to purify is a great failsafe for a filter.

I thought Nalgenes were BPA free and didn't have the chemicals other plasitcs do?

There are over 200 kinds of bisphenols, which are the "B" of "BPA." They got rid of one and now market their products with little leaf emojis as being safe and natural.

Plastic is poison.

Sounds about right.

I'm glad I switched to a stainless steel cup a few years ago for probably 99 percent of my water. Before that I always brought the Nalgene with me instead of the Rtic when I went anywhere.

Update:

After months and months of eating as healthy and it gets (for me) working out super hard and trying my best to be a better person I finally lost almost 40#s. I have way more energy, much more ambition, less anxiety and overall feel like a much better person. I got my blood drawn a couple times and there was a couple things wrong with my thyroid levels and my T levels were a touch low. Now my T levels are great, my thyroid is under control and I’m doing all around much better.
Thank you everyone for the opinions, thoughts and support. Happy hunting to everyone, and thank you again!
