I think they discontinued them so you got lucky. Its a nice jacket however they do run a bit on the small side.

I've gotten my daily food rations down to about 18.5 oz per day. No I'm not starving myself and I'm still eating all things I'll even eat while I'm at home.

I have seen several of his videos. Great content and great tool for planning. Are you mainly eating bars? I’m always interested in learning how to save and mix it up some.

I eat some bars but no more than 1 per day if I pack them. There's a lot of other actual food options out there that have higher cal/oz than many of the bars out there. Lots of little tricks as well like adding olive oil packets to freeze dried meals or peanut butter to bacon and crackers.

I went through the gear skeptic food list and then also started calculating any foods I liked that weren't on the list already and if it wasn't above about 145 cal/oz or I couldn't put together a meal that came in higher than that then I just don't take it. I have 5 different day/menu combos so that it stays simple but also is a change from day to day so that I don't quit eating from getting burnt out on the same things.

I’ll have to checkout that channel. I’m always fighting with how much is too much vs too little vs getting burned out. A few years ago I went on two goat and one sheep hunt in a short time span and I still don’t think I have recovered from freeze dried meals. I’m starting to look at other brands with one servings options.

Looking at your gear list, I see you use the Chugach TR rain gear...I've finally worn out a set of original Kuiu Chugach rain gear and felt that while the jacket was pretty durable and waterproof, the rain paints tore fairly easily. So aside from being lightweight, what are your impressions on the waterproof and durability performance of the Chugach TR jacket and pants?

My pants are actually the regular Chugach. The jacket is the TR. I’ve had no issues with tearing with mine and cannot say whether the TR is any better. I find them more durable than the Sitka Dewpoint series though. You won’t notice any difference in performance between the two.
