First post is to smear an outfitter, I hope you are able to work things out with him.

I had a really good hunt with him on a brown bear hunt in the spring of 2022. I also booked that hunt at the GAOS in 2022. It was a well organized hunt and everything went smoothly. He seems like an honest hard working outfitter that I would gladly hunt with again.

I'm not sure you quite understand how reviews work. The title of this thread was for a review and so the very purpose for my post was just that. I'm glad you had a good experience with him. I did not. My intention was not to "smear" anyone. It was to leave an honest review of my experience, which is exactly what I did.

For the record, we have spoken and have worked it out. I told him I would take my comment down because my intention is never to harm someone's business. But I had literally zero recourse. I hopped on to Google to search for other reviews and tripped over this forum...which is why this was my first and only post.

So, while I have deleted my post, I'm not sure it's completely gone since you quoted me in your response.

I think I do understand how a review works. I gave an honest review because I actually hunted with him. I didn’t join a forum to lay out a timeline detailing how you thought you might be wronged on an upcoming hunt. Either way I’m glad you got things worked out, I hope you have a great hunt.

Hello, I got a notice about this post on my email. I have not been active on this forum in a while as I have not had much to contribute but have lurked from time to time.

My experience with Lyle was very positive. I first met him at the GAOS in Feb 2020. After some praying, soul searching and permission from my lovely wife, I booked a sheep hunt with him....

And then TEOTWAWKI hit. (the pandemic for those with short memories).

Long story short since I posted my hunt in 2020( but if anyone wants me to regale them about my hunt please let me know ), due to the pandemic with its chaotic uncertainty, Lyle and I corresponded back and forth numerous times. Sometimes his wife would send/reply via email as he was out in the field or engaged in his fishing business.
We had to revise plans, dates, locations. Even our contingency plans had contingency plans. But it all worked out well in the end and I am truly grateful and humbled by my experience.
