Airgunning Grouse

I'll be taking my son along the next couple years for mule deer and elk and was thinking about getting a light air rifle for him to pack for grouse. I know it's legal in several states but I was wondering if anyone else has done it and if they have any advice as far as a light packable airgun?

A BB-gun is great for Jr. Grouse are sometimes dumb enough to let folks get in range.

A 1,000 fps pump gun might work good. They are pretty light. Work on rabbits too.

If hunting in Montana read the regs carefully. They are VERY specific about pellet type and velocity !

We use rocks a lot of the time. An air gun is more than enough.

The only place to shoot em is in the head. Shots should be close so a pump air gun would be fine.

A .22 Zoraki/Alecto with a red dot would definitely strike fear in the hearts of Grouse.
