Brainfart, I meant dead air and edited aboveI hadn't heard that on DD but did on dead air for their cans that were manufactured by KGM prior to getting their own printer.

What’s your impression of the sound suppression compared to those longer cans? The more time I get behind the Airlock the more I love it

The airlock is MUCH quieter than the raptor 4 and OG reflex silencers in the picture . The Hyperion K is a hint quieter to the shooter and was pretty close to the same sound level according to the guy 10’ behind me .What’s your impression of the sound suppression compared to those longer cans?
I have a DDC Enticer. I’d love to go with a shorter can but with constant tinnitus I don’t want to sacrifice sound suppression.
Which enticer do you have ?What’s your impression of the sound suppression compared to those longer cans?

The raptor 4 isn't known to be particularly quite so no surprise there. The airlock is MUCH quieter than the raptor 4 and OG reflex silencers in the picture . The Hyperion K is a hint quieter to the shooter and was pretty close to the same sound level according to the guy 10’ behind me .
You are correct , the raptor 4 isn’t quiet , it’s roughly the same as the OG though , and with a 6.5 endcap it’s quieter than the OGThe raptor 4 isn't known to be particularly quite so no surprise there.
FYI as folks are wondering about sound levels and comparison, the thunderbeast 2025 sound summit results are out now too. Keep in mind not every can that has been tested is tested again so folks that are interested should look over 2023, 2024, and 2025. The hyperion K has been tested if folks are wondering. Decibel ratings in their testing aren't absolute as much as trying to be apples to apples testing cans in the same conditions for a relative comparison.
That’s a really quiet silencer, where are you located . I might be able to meet up and let you hear my airlockL Ti
That’s a generous offer. PM sent. That’s a really quiet silencer, where are you located . I might be able to meet up and let you hear my airlock
I'm in the same boat. Jealous of all these short cans but with some preexisting hearing damage and tinnitus, I still want a higher level of sound suppression than the average hunter. What’s your impression of the sound suppression compared to those longer cans?

I bet a 7” zero g would be incredible , because the 5” sounds amazingI'm in the same boat. Jealous of all these short cans but with some preexisting hearing damage and tinnitus, I still want a higher level of sound suppression than the average hunter.
With all these advancements in shorter cans, I'm really curious what something like the Zero G or OG could do with a slightly longer/heavier version.
I am not surprised as I think baffle counts are either the same or within 1. Also the OG 6.5 is quieter as well. You are correct , the raptor 4 isn’t quiet , it’s roughly the same as the OG though , and with a 6.5 endcap it’s quieter than the OG
I’d be interested in seeing a comparison to the scythe. I have been happy with my scythe in terms of weight and sound suppression but obviously they seem to be prone to potential rapid deconstruction issuesThe airlock is MUCH quieter than the raptor 4 and OG reflex silencers in the picture . I’ve got a buddy with a scythe , I’ll try to meet up with him next weekI’d be interested in seeing a comparison to the scythe. I have been happy with my scythe in terms of weight and sound suppression but obviously they seem to be prone to potential rapid deconstruction issues
Love it!potential rapid deconstruction issues
aka RUD-Rapid Unscheduled DisassemblyLove it!
Ive blown up 2 cans and never noticed any significant recoil just a large concussive blast similar to a radial brake (inside a shooting bay both times). Not as far as I know. The shooter is the one injured. The Scythe’s welds break and most of the can gets sent down range. The increased recoil hurts the shooter.

Yeah the total mass is conserved but the locations of the masses change quickly, which is where the exaggerated felt recoil can originate.Ive blown up 2 cans and never noticed any significant recoil just a large concussive blast similar to a radial brake (inside a shooting bay both times).
I could see a rupture causing shrapnel of flying debris but the recoil just doesn't add up to me theres no extra energy in the system.

Is there a notible difference in recoil mitigation and muzzle rise between the OG and AirLock? I'd guess the improved effectiveness at capturing gases helps the AirLock? But then perhaps the fact that the OG is signficantly heavier offsets the AirLock's recoil advantage? Thinking out loud, observations or thoughts appreciated. You are correct , the raptor 4 isn’t quiet , it’s roughly the same as the OG though , and with a 6.5 endcap it’s quieter than the OG
