Look no further than your entire school system and who is teaching those kids. The same teachers and professors that preach animal rights and "Guns are bad" push Socialism and Gender nonsense. This craziness goes hand in hand.

Then, just look at your Governor...you Oregonians voted this stuff in.

Painting with quite a broad brush aren’t you? I live in southern Oregon, have kids in the school system and my wife teaches in it. I can tell you this is not happening in our county and many of the counties around us. I can’t speak for all of Oregon because each school district is responsible for choosing its own curriculum as long as it meets basic state requirements. On the rare occasion a teacher tries to get political it is quickly shut down. Unfortunately the rare occurrence it does happen it makes headlines and is picked up by national “news” networks and stated as if the whole state is doing that.

Is Oregon frustrating liberal, without a doubt. But what happens in the headlines doesn’t mean it’s happening throughout the state. Painting with such a broad brush and being influenced my clickbait headlines and awful news sources is what has gotten us into the political quagmire we are in.

Its commendable you defend your wife and a small % of the state, but the Oregon statistics tell a different story, some highlights;

Oregon is ranked 44th to 45th in the nation for K-12 education and has been cited as having one of the worst education systems in the country.

The system has faced enrollment declines post-pandemic and ranks in the bottom ten nationally for overall quality, with low graduation rates and high chronic absenteeism.

Recent data indicates that Oregon elementary and middle school students scored lower in reading and math than in any other state when adjusted for demographics

I very aware of the statistics and agree with you that Oregon’s education system is broken. And on a state level some liberal policies are driving it. However it much more nuanced than “woke” policies. For example, for capital infrastructure projects, a the school district must fund a large portion of the project through funding mechanisms like bonds and the state can then give matching funds. I live in a very conservative county that refuses to pass a bond and hasn’t in decades resulting in schools in severe disrepair. A great example is with the current warming trend classrooms are now seeing temps in the 90s in May and June. The last bond had a carve out to update or install HVAC in classrooms that didn’t have it. The most common argument I heard was “well we didn’t have that growing up, they don’t need that either”. I can’t blame woke politics for this.

Unfortunately Oregon is like most Blue states, the populous lives in one small corner and out votes the rest of the state. We have 36 counties, 9 vote blue and 27 vote red. I don't think this measure will pass this time but if they keep bringing it up eventually it might.

Yeah, we don't. When our freezers are full of salmon, crab, halibut, ling and black cod, rock fish, razor clams, deer, elk, moose and what not, life seems OK.
