I started shouting traditional muzzleloaders. I bought a TC Hawken in 50 cal. and a 54 cal. Renegade . I make all my own roundballs and patches and it finally came together last week. A small doe, about 35 yrd. and right through the boiler room. The way that deer ran through the cat tails, I thought I missed. However, 6" of snow on the ground showed me a very good blood trail . Lots of blood 3' high on the cat tails and blood mist everywhere. The deer hanging look big , but it is a small fawn doe. It was such a nice hunt and the 1st one in 18 yrs. with a muzzy. It was a pass through so there was no roundball in it. Only 70 gr. 3f Goex and my home makde patches. My only other muzzy kill was with my TC Encore with a 44 cal. pistol bullet . I really like using my muzzleloader.
