I have a solid Weston vacuum sealer, but would like to upgrade to a chamber vac so I can better pack seafood, gumbo, chowder, stock, etc. Got a new (to me) boat and a rifle build in the works so I'm relatively tight on fun money. But also going on a family vacation in 3 weeks on a 52' Grand Banks and would like to prep some gumbo, chowder and bisque for the trip. Small freezer so vac sealed is ideal.

The Vevor chamber vacs seem to be getting solid reviews and they're definitely within my budget right now. I'm leaning towards the 260C model. Any convincing words otherwise? I'm going to sell the Weston and might come out close to even on the swap.

260A
Max Power 950W
Chamber Dimension 17.3"x16.5"x3"
Seal Bar 10.5"

260C
Max Power 1700W
Chamber Dimensions 14"x13.4"x2.8"
Seal Bar 12.6"

My Vevor diesel heater has been solid, and I might even snag an ice maker for fishing this fall. I HATE buying ice but love having too much of it for fish. Will obviously use this unit for big and small game as well. Won't be able to vac seal a full bone in bear shoulder anymore but don't feel the need to try that again.

No experience with the vevor chamber vac, but got an Avid Armor one a year ago and it’s been great, if you want to look at them.

Whatever you get, I think you’ll like it, the chamber vac is way better than a food saver style vac machine.

My main dilemma is the chamber vs seal bar size. One unit has a larger chamber size, smaller seal bar length. Other has smaller chamber size, larger seal bar length.

I have some 8"x12" bags and 11"x16" bags currently. Almost never use the larger size since I try to portion things into 2 servings or 4 servings of meat per bag. Going to wet stuff I imagine that's even less of a consideration.

I bought a 260w. I think it only has a 10" sealing bar. It has been fine for what I do. The depth of the chamber verses the height of the sealing bar is a consideration when doing liquid or very wet items. A wide sealing bar isn't just for wide bags. It speeds things up when you're sealing two bags side by side. I had been looking at sealers in the $1000 range for a while and really couldn't justify the money for how much I'd use it. This Vevor was like $230 shipped with some YouTube discount codes. I really can't believe they can build them for that price. I've had mine for about 6 months and used it at least 60 times.

I'll second avid armor. The unit and their customer service is excellent.
Which ever you go with, having a chamber vac will without a doubt impress you
