Another vote for the Vortex 3-15x42 LH. Has hash marks to 24 MOA, no dialing needed for any hunting situation.

SWFA 3x9 in sportmatch Rings seems to be the ticket. Although I still use crappy Leupolds.

Yes....

And that would be another Tikka in 223 twisted 1:8 for heavies. Same rings, same scope, same dope (or damn close)

I think my next rifle will be a bigger caliber, perhaps a .375 H&H

35 Whelen or 9.3x62 would be fun as well with slightly less recoil. I have plans to send my 270 into JES and have it rebored to either one of those cartridges.

270 WSM isn't really a magnum. If you'd be OK with 30-06 you'd be OK with 270 WSM.
+1. My 14 year old daughter handles hers like a champ. She's 5'6 and 110 pounds. Shots from 90 to 175. She called her hit this year before coming out of the scope. That's in a 70 featherweight.

If your ok with a 270 WSM, you should be OK with a Vanilla 270 too. Been there, done that...

Less than 10 rounds through the one I had..Kimber Montana. Sold it for a vanilla one and it was more of a good thing.

‘Course I tripped it too......
