I’m going to now, I’ve always done 22 with SWFA’s and Burris/Seekins rings based upon things learned on here. This is my first set of the nightforce rings so I wanted to double check.

Plus nightforce’s spec just states “do not exceed 25” and not “torque to 25” so I wanted to just be sure.
95+% of torque wrenches will have a greater than 3" lb discrepancy in their mechanics man. Aim for the high spec and roll with these Mavens.

Just got this back from MK Machining. I know they are here in rokslide but I can remember his username. They hooked the maven up with all the trimmings, and now they should be on file so if you guys need any accessories check them out. They did the lens caps, throw lever, illum knob and parallax knob.20241104_162223.jpg

Any chance of close-ups of the lens caps?

And are they loud? Do they feel robust?

I think we're still hanging out for the holy grail of lens caps ...

They feel strong and the flip up action is very positive. Along with the snap close action. Its opening morning of my mule deer tag so I can't take more pictures but I will later this week after I kill a big old bruiser buck 😉 this is all I have for now
Edit: no I didn't feel like they were loud. Not any louder then tenebrex

They look like the caps that come as an option in the rings/cap bundle (Tenebraex?). With the stiff parallax i could see that being helpful.

I used the Aadmount all season.

No, they aren’t really loud. The eyepiece cap has a healthy spring in it, but in just hold it while releasing it if I want to be quiet.

Yes they are robust.

My only complaint is this the eyepiece release button is pretty big and gets caught on my pack from time to time and releases.

All in all I am very happy with them.

I echo the same observations on the aadmount caps.

I’m in the camp that doesn’t like my Aadmount caps. Too bulky, too loud, ocular button too big and high cost. I want to like them because they are robust but I don’t. Back to Butler Creek or simple cheap neoprene covers for me.

The MKM covers I have are loud because they are very hard plastic. And the bumps on them to grab with your finger ore way too large for my liking. I have hell getting my Scopecoat off because of them.

What throw lever (size/compatible model/link/etc) from MKM is that? I'm in the market for a few for the R1.2's.

Thanks Jason,

My questions were actually for WKR about the MKM caps.

I've got both Aadmount and Tenebraex, and both have drawbacks ... was curious how the MKMs compare.

I'm at home for a few hours before I head out again in the morning, give me a little while and I'll get some more pictures. Anything in particular you are looking for?

Thanks - I'm really just interested in the construction and durability ... so the lens caps and details of the hinges and attachment points would be amazing. Thanks again!
