Adak Island Cellular Coverage

My husband and I are planning a two-week trip to Adak for fishing and caribou hunting. I've heard that GCI and AT&T both have cell coverage on Adak. I'd like to be able to make calls if needed. Can any of you tell me what cell carriers you've used on Adak? We currently have Google Fi and Verizon.

Wouldn’t rely on cell coverage even if it supposedly “exists”. Bring the Garmin satellite phone (ensure it’s been updated) and you’ll be good to go.

I bought an AT&T SIM card for my phone and I had coverage in town. Data was slow, but I could make calls.

Aleutian Outfitters would be my choice these days.

Get a Garmin inreach, and use the phone app to text from anywhere, as cell coverage is VERY minimal, and data is not a thing. I have spent a decent amount of time there, Tanaga and Great Sitkin islands and miss it terribly. If you go to the new bar, tell the owner he’s a POS (Cody).
