I wanted to let everyone know how great Phelps Game calls has been to an organization that I volunteer with.
Through a program we created with the NWTF, we take between 15-25 junior hunters, ages 12-16, on a guided turkey hunt on private ranches. Each kid has their own guide (hunt leader). Kids who are selected, have to write an essay and apply for the program. We put them through a one day seminar where they learn turkey calling, biology, blind etiquette and how to shoot a shotgun.
For the second year, Phelps has donated diaphragm calls and slate calls for each youth hunter in the program. When we asked last year for the donation, they did not hesitate to get involved. We all know Phelps makes some great calls, I use them personally for my elk hunting, but they also their play the part of being involved in their community by supporting events like this. It is companies like this that I like to do business with.
So please keep Phelps in mind when it comes to getting your calls. They are directly supporting our sport and community. The importance of getting youth involved in the outdoors is, in my opinion, crucial to the future of our sport.
