I am looking to add a can to the stable to improve upon my TBAC 7, I have it narrowed down to the scythe and raptor 8. Is the raptor 8 and reflex that much worth it over the scythe for recoil and sound?
I think it depends on what you want. I'm happy enough with the Raptor 8 I seriously debated just getting another one, but I have not been bothering with the reflex and just using a flush mount and feel two of the same is silly.

If you don't have either, flip a coin.

It was linked above. IIRC:
-Someone was having issues when using a xeno adapter but not when dirrect thread irrc.
-OP was having group issues and thinks there may be some baffle grazing
-One person had a can come apart which it appears to have been replaced, they thought the can was causing first round shift but it was present without the can too.
-Form said ~4 of 9 cans they got for the shoot to hunt class caused groups to open up on the rifles, don't know the status of that resolution.

IF I was gonna get another raptor I'd want to ask AB if the 556 bore version could also be used on 6mm, that would be a quite can I think. Or a raptor 10...

I've experienced no unpredictable POI shift with my wolfhunter on multiple barrels. Not one gun or setup has had issues with it. Hands down it's my favorite can and an absolute show stopper. It's oddly much quieter from a bystanders perspective than behind the gun but it's not loud by any means.

Case in point, I was shooting a match and while I was shooting I heard one of the guys in my squad say that my can was quieter than his. When I finished I told him that I thought his was quieter than mine. We had someone shoot both of them while we stood by. The DD can was much quieter than his but when you're behind the trigger it's not the same but still quiet by any metric. Can't recommend it enough for 223 or 6mm builds.

I have 7 suppressors in total and if I had to purchase another today, I'd go right back to DD. They're simple, effective, and not overpriced. I wouldn't mind an Enticer S in titanium but the scythe fills that role for me. In no way do I think the scythe is anywhere near 2x the can of the Enticer as the price implys.

Thanks! Basically trying to maximize sound/recoil savings for as small/light of a can as possible for hunting (.223 up to 6.5 cal). (I have a banish backcountry and that falls short of what I would like from sound/recoil). RS research looks to point as the scythe ti as better performing than the TBAC 7 and leaning that way unless I am thinking about this wrong.

I asked them, they said it can e, but should be checked with an alignment rod before use.

You can get a smaller front cap for the Scythe-ti, but not a Raptor.

I'm pretty sure once flush mounts are accounted for the Scythe-ti is lighter than the Raptor 6, and with a flush end cap it will be less than 1/2 inch longer (about 0.3 inches longer).

As a first can, I still think I would get the Raptor 8 in 7.76. But, that is only just barely. If weight and length were priority, the the Scythe-ti wins.

Ill add a plug for the DD wolfhunter. I probably have a couple hundred rounds through it with my 22-250. That thing is impressive how quiet it is for its size. I don't think anyone would be disappointed with it.

+1 on the Wolfhunter; I have 2, one on an 18” 22 Creedmoor and one on an 18” .223.
No POI shifts and group sizes are equal to the group sizes shot with these guns using a TBAC gen 1 and gen 2 6.5 Ultra 7. Impressively quiet.

Edit: No first round POI shift I should say, as was noted on some of the other posts with the Enticer S Ti

Here is my take on raptor with reflex. Point of reference, I have 2 375 10 stacks. One 3” and one 5” reflex. Also a 30 cal A-10. If you want quieter than the no reflex 8 stack for hunting, then the 10 stack is a better choice. The reflex is heavier than the two extra baffles and is about the same sound wise.

IMHO the way to use a reflex is run it at the range for more sound suppression and then direct thread when you want light. The A-10 is within an oz of the raptor, but one less baffle and stainless. Also half the $$. I got mine to use on ar’s. Run it on 6 arc and 223.
