AB A-10 review

Exactly the model I wanted for my first can. I'll use it on my FAL's, 7-08 Howa Superlite, and Weatherby Vanguard Obsidian .223. Congrats on your can!
Thanks! For this year, it’ll get used on my 223 bolt gun, and my 6 PRC. At some point I’ll get a US OG for the 6 PRC, then the A-10 will live on the 223

Yeah at some point I'd like to get a dedicated can for one of my AR's. .223/ 5.56 is such a handy round.

bumping this thread as I am very close to buying an A10. I realize its not the lightest or quietist but I can get one for about $500 right now. I am having a hard time justifying spending nearly twice as much on a Ti can to save 4-6 oz's and maybe a few decibels less. I can cut weight elsewhere in my kit

This would primarily be used on a Tikka .308 and potentially a rem 700 .243 if I ever get around to it. also may be used on an AR but not really a decision point.

does having a heavier suppressor on the end of you're barrel affect shoot ability or simply just extra weight to pack?

I’ve used mine on 308,7mm08, 243, 7mag. I think it’s a lot of suppressor for the money.

It’s not what my Reaper can is, but is really good for $500 especially being around other more expensive cans than it that I didn’t think sounded as good.

Of current available cans, it’s one of the best values on the market. I like mine. Full auto rated. Not super heavy.

Have the raptor 8 and just got a A10 and really liking it. Shooting on a 6.5 Cr and its suppression and tone are great. I really like my raptor but it’s definitely not twice as good imo. For the money think the A10 is very hard to go wrong with.

Let me say this.. yesterday we shot the OG 65 and the AB A10 in 6.5 back to back. I cannot without a meter tell you which one is quieter. They both sound good but in a slightly different way. After that my buddy asked for info to order the AB-A10. It will be his first suppressor and was my first as well. I don’t regret buying either suppressors. Moving forward the AB A10 will go on my trainer gun that gets punished. My new OG 65 will go on my backpacking 6.5 as it’s shorter overall and half the weight. Some random thoughts for consideration..

I'll always pack my ti cans but if I didn't have any I wouldn't have any qualms packing the A-10.

Affect shoot ability? In what way?

A heavier suppressor will have more POI shift when compared with a lighter suppressor. But the consistency of the POI won’t be negatively affected. When I went from no suppressor to light suppressor (ZG 6.5 or OG 6.5) I saw a consistent 0.5” shift on my 20” Tikka 6.5 CM 10-shot group at 100 yards. When I put on the Raptor 8 or 10, the shift is consistently around 2”.

It also affects the rifle’s balance, but not drastically. It’s something to which you can easily become adjusted.

And a heavier suppressor lowers felt recoil.

I bought my first can on 11/23/2023, I did know shit about what I should buy as my first can, I knew I wanted a 556 or a 22 and wanted both but didn't have the money to do both at the same time so I didn't know what I was going to buy first. It just so happened, AB was doing a bogo on the their Little bird so I bought the A-10 warthog 556 and got the little bird 22 for free, well almost free, I paid $692.13 OTD for the A-10 and paid the $200 ransom on the bird, but I don't think I could of made a better choice at the time for the amount of money I spent for both cans.
In hindsight, the only thing I wish I had done different was buy the 762 can instead of the 556.
I've yet to buy any mounts for them and have direct threaded both of them since I've own them, the A-10 goes between a Daniel Defense DDM4 V7 and a LaRue PredatOBR and the Little bird go goes between numerous 22's.
I've shot a ton of round though both of them and could not be happier with their performance.
If I get a new can, it will be for my 22's and most likely will be the B&T Print-X Tiger 22 Ti, Stealth Additive Works Katan 22 or the Specters Cat Ben A1 22, in that order.

It is not just that there are a 4-6 ounces in your overall kit. Cutting that weight from my overall load would be easy. My multitool weights more than that.

Adding any suppressor to the end of a barrel changes the balance of the rifle which affects how they shoot and how the rifle carries. When I first got a suppressor, I was shocked how much that a 14oz can on the end of a 22" barrel changed things.

Now, my lightest can is a AB Raptor 8 (8.4 oz) with the OTB section removed.
