I seem to have overwhelmed myself with information on cans lately. I want one (to start) to use on my 223 rss and a 308. This can seems to do alot. I do not shoot more than a couple hundred rounds per year.

I had been thinking about a more expensive option like a scythe to in particular. But this seems to check a lot of the same boxes (minus the weight).

The cost is so attractive.

Any input, suggestions of other cans, would be appreciated.

I went with a Raptor 10 for my first. The AB warthog is a solid choice but a bit heavier and louder. The length is great though.

The enticer s, raptor 8, or scythe would be my other picks in that order for bolt guns.

No. Otter Polonium is better choice for money, sound suppression and longevity. Yes it’s little heavier so what.

When factoring in the price keep in mind there is an additional $200 tax stamp, maybe $25ish if you get a trust, and depending on who you order from might have FFL fees. So just assuming the stamp you're at $680 for a good all around can but it has compromises compared to cans that'll cost a little more.

Long story short it wouldn't be my "one and done" choice. It'd be my "I need another can for use at the range, etc. so I don't have to shuffle suppressors around between rifles all the time."

BUT if the NFA stamp ever goes away I'd snap one up real quick I think cause it definitely is bang for the buck, the stamp just dilutes the value dynamic in my mind.

Literally twice the weight and longer. OCL makes good cans but they don't have a good can for hunting under 7" that's lightweight.

This isn't reddit with pewscience bandwagoning.

I have both a Raptor 8 with a 3.5” reflex and a warthog (A-10) before they renamed them. With no reflex and end caps on both there is only about 0.2 ounces difference between the two. I have been way impressed with my warthog and short of being on something like a 7PRC with the reflex I don’t notice much difference when switching back and forward at the range. I usually have the raptor on one rifle and the warthog on the other.

I was able to order another end cap for the A-10 from AB and now it can be used in both 1/2x28 and 5/8x24 threads.

That being said I do agree if your within a couple hundred dollars of the suppressor you really want you might as well buy once cry one. But now after shooting suppressed, I am like most people and I think more suppressors are in my future.

Agreed on the pewscience point. But I'd say the hydrogen K checks the lightweight hunting can box! And they make it in a 6.5 bore

Am I missing something on pewscience? I do check them out sometimes to compare different cans
I don't think so, seems to be good testing from what I've seen, has some weird proprietary stuff though. The silencer summit is the only comparable testing. On the nfa reddit there's just non stop OCL polonium reccomendations regardless of application. But OCL is also just awesome. Love my polo and a buddy recently got a hydrogen k 6.5 that's surprisngly quiet for the size.

I’m hoping the AB A-10 7.62 is decent. I just ordered one this weekend as my first suppressor.
Low cost and various decent Ytube reviews plus being in stock right now pushed me there.
It’s primary and first use besides range toy is for an AR15 6.5 Grendel build for night hog hunting. Will also use it for deer hunting I’m sure and on 5.56 AR.
Based on how all that goes I’ll consider cutting and threading 243 bolt rifle.
