More proof Rokslide guys are the best congrats to all involved!

On a side note my hunting buddy and I watched a guy shoot a nice 28" buck it ran over the hill and died. The guy just walked away and left it. We went 3/4 of a mile out of our way to go tell him he shot it and it was a nice buck and it was dead. He kept saying well you guys can have it go tag it, we said no it's your deer we'll help you drag it to the truck. We got over there he shot it in the guts so he wouldn't gut it. We grabbed the horns to start pulling it and the horns ripped right off the bases and had blood on them like shed antlers so then the clown says well my kid wanted a horn he can have these. So we tie a rope on it and proceed to drag it through thick brush for a mile to the truck where his buddies were they all tried to get him to gut it he still refused. We got the deer loaded in there fancy dodge pickup, they told him you better tag it even though it doesn't have antlers. He reluctantly notched October but I never saw him notch the day he then tucked it in the deers ear. They offered to give us a ride to our truck which was now over 2 1/2 miles away. We accepted the offer, wow, the guy must of offered the driver 200 in damages because the ruff ride was on. It was like the Baja 2000 I know we both had a death grip on the bed rails and about got thrown out 6 times. What a bunch of ass clowns we should of turned in for poaching they said they were going to process it at the house but I'm sure after they dropped us off they threw it in the brush for buzzard bait. The only good thing to come out of it was I heard he got busted for poaching the next year and his license got taken away. Probably shouldn't of shared this pathetic story on this thread but some of the encounters I've had I hunt alone and stay away from people anymore. That being said hopefully if I'm in a jam Realunlucky or BIL show up! Way to help out and the shout out to them is awesome! Great story.

Great thread! Yes, bowhunters are some of the greatest folks on the planet! I know 5 mile would have done the same for any of us! Good stuff guys!

realunlucky is one of our most helpful members all around. If you doubt it, go look at the FNG forum. He's often the first to welcome these new guys and make them comfortable.

hats off to to him, his helper, and 5miles for letting us all know. It's guys like these that make Rokslide...

Great thread. Were you guys in the same area by happenstance or did you plan it?
It just happened. 5 miles bought a turned in tag for the unit we drew. Since neither of us had hunted it before we did talk once to compare notes. We were spiked out most of our time there but on that very morning had come back and it was the first time all week I had checked my phone. Worked out for him and by fate pushed us into hunting the area I shot my rag horn. Everyone was a winner except my BIL who probably worked the hardest. Next time brother your definitely past due!

Tell him whenever he wants to plan a trip back out here, I'll do my best to be available and get him a bull......even if I don't have a tag.
