Of course. It has nothing to do with the tool chosen, it's the mental state of mind of the individual. THAT's the problem, and always has been. But people keep refusing to address the real problem because it's easier to deflect that problem to something else.

True that and think of the publicity it would have gotten had this been a firearm! This won't get nearly the air time although it is just as bad had it in fact been a firearm.

Sad that kids are being exposed to the very thought of hurting someone else.
Issues are issues and they need to be helped/treated and not just becoming another issue to develop a political cause around.

You notice that they didn't say anything in this article about "knife violence". But they did take the opportunity to bring up some of the past attacks with "guns", including where they erroneously say that an "assault rifle" was used in the Florida shooting.

When these things stop getting reported in the media, they stop happening. It has been done in other countries of similar issue, with a great level of success. The idea probably wouldn't apply to an 8 year old. But it would with the school shootings. I am not saying we need to be an ignorant society, but when sick people see the impact and hype associated with such an event it plants a seed and the problem is perpetuated. If only we could unit politically, we could make such evidence-based changes.

Its scary, As a parent all i can do to my Kids(5 and 2) is to teach the right thing always, I pray that they never are the receiving end of this kind of terrorism, I manage a fair amount of "kids"(16-21 year olds) The stuff they say and do is scary, they have no moral compus, of the kids i hire 1 in about 8 is great, the rest lack anything.
