I have a savage 110 storm in 7mm mag i recently had threaded and ruger american in 300 win mag. Recently I jumped onto the suppressor band wagon and im trying to decide which would be the best option. Both are overkill for whitetail I know. The 7mm mag is probably the better overall rifle but the 300 win mag has been so easy to reload for and get good loads and shoot well. The 7mm mag just seems to be iffy with some ammo and has been more picky. In a perfect world my mathews gets the job done in archery and I dont need either. But figured it's worth asking if there's much difference because as I said I know theyre both overkill for whitetail

"Only accurate rifles are interesting" They'll both kill a deer the same way. Really depends on shot placement but either of them you put on a shoulder and hammer bone will make a mess, probably no matter the bullet weight. They both have a lot of options for types of bullets and weights. You say you reload, so really you can make whatever you want. My personal preference ALWAYS leans to the more accurate rifle.

Thats where im at too usually. But if there was a difference in the sense one may make a less of a mess than id work with that rifle more. I can shoot them both well out to about 400 yards. But id be lying if I said I dont feel more comfortable behind the 300 win mag. With the suppressor the 300 win mag is just a breeze to shoot and just feels better. Not to say the 7mm isnt a great rifle, I think ive just had the 300 longer so ive shot it more and know it better
