Is Unknown planning on loading for the 7PRC? I have them building me a 20 inch 7PRC in a Rokstok. Just waiting on the stock at this point. I was planning to do my own loading, but haven’t totally decided yet.

Nah, I just told them to use whatever their best "factory" load is using the 175gr ELD-X. I do the same thing with the 6.5CM and 6.5PRC. Both are plenty accurate that I've never felt the need for a custom loading.

This was all the more spice my gun likes with Peterson Brass. Not even max according to Hodgdon but.....pretty good for 18 inch barrel. Got a few other loadings to try today. This stuff is super fine like the StaBall powders. So maybe a few kernels difference made the numbers vary.

Another data point. I have a 7 PRC built by Unknown Munitions, Bat Vesper medium action, Rokstok, Ace #2 barrel at 19”, TB ultra 7. I’m shooting Hornady factory 180 eldm lot# 3233832 at 2710 fps. I have about 200 rounds through it and the barrel hasn’t really sped up (maybe 5-10 fps, and I’ve been chono’ing most of my shots).

It's pretty easy with N560 too but it's hard to find an right now the Grand is new an cheap so long as I get 2800 or so I'm happy

Bumping this thread. Trying to decide between an 18" and a 20" barrel for a 7prc Tikka. I'll be running an Ultra 7 Gen 2 can on it. Anybody have velocity data for factory Hornady Precision Hunter or hand-loaded Barnes LRX loads?

I know this post is older but I will going to the range this weekend with my 18 inch 7mmPRC with 168 TTSX and VV570 so will report back for those interested.

I have shot a 3 shot ladder with my gunwerks 18 inch 7 PRC with Elite iron suppressor using N570 this weekend. Results are fair nothing outstanding yet. I shot from 66.4 gr to 70.1 (book max showing 68.7gr). I have not seen any signs of pressure. I shot 27 rounds on Friday up to 69.0 gr and ran out of range time as it closed. I had a decent group at 68.4 (2743 FPS) so I loaded 10 rounds with this charge weight at BTO 2.620 (0.050 jump and 2.590 (0.080 jump) and shot those today with the remaining loads I had upto 70.1 grns. I decided to clean the barrel since its still new. I shot 3 rounds of Factory outfitter 160gr CX to start today and foul the barrel. This ammo doesn't shoot well in this rifle so its good for something. I will attach the targets but nothing is extra special velocity is very near 2800FPS with 70.1grns N570. I will say as noted previously this powder is definitely large log sized kernals and I tapped them down so as not to crunch em. This will definitely be more an issue as charge weight goes higher. I will load a few more with more higher charges to see where pressure signs occur but I think I will load some more rounds at 70.1and 69.09 with same seating depth and try to seat deeper if I can to increase the jump to try and tighten the groups. The stats sure seem to be more favorable at the higher chargers. These are shown on the targets. NOTE: these are all 168 gr LRx bullets. I had put TTSx down in error. The squares are 1 inch on the targets.

Just under 100 rounds down a 20” proof SS barrel. Factory Hornady 175 ELD-X are 2743. 180 ELDMs over 65gr H1000 2650fps, 66gr 2715, 67gr 2765.

I never tried H1000 till other day. I should have fired a fouling shot first it was 1.5 inch group. But 2 were beside each other. But n565 I thought I missed with second shot an 3rd the velocity jumped 26 fps or I think it'd been better cause first 2 shots were 2 fps apart. So I'm gonna do two 5 shot groups with both an reduce charge. N565 to 67 an H1000 to 68. Both were snuggish by 3rd shot H1000 was lil more than snuggish lol. Idk why but I just didn't think it'd do as well in an 18 inch barrel I was kinda set on 560 but glad I tried these 2. Been best yet with speed vs pressure.

Switched powders to N570 and last trip out my 18” carbonsix barrel was sitting at 2856 fps avg (14SD) for 20 shots with Peterson brass and 180 hybrid target. I have a separate thread following the N570 load development for this rifle and it seems to pair very well with this setup.

Groups below were at 900 and 1000 respectively.

Yup. Just helps to settle them enough that I’m not crunching powder. It’s a pretty full case

I think I may settle on H1000 for now. Gonna reduce load touch little pressure still. Cold bore shot was to the right. Stacked the 3 to the left am hoping just me that pulled the low shot. Liking the speed an ES an SD though.

Nice! Even including all 5 shots that is about 1 MOA. Is that 18 in barrel? I haven't been getting more than 2850 with 168 LRX bullets in my 18 inch barrel and not really happy with group sizes.
