7mm PRC Barrel Length vs Velocity

I recently completed a barrel cut down test with my 7PRC. 26" down to 16". Nothing too surprising but I wanted to give people with barrels shorter than 26" a decent way to extrapolate the data from my 7PRC cartridge guide. A video is in the works for the cartridge guide, but for now it's published in blog format on TS Custom's website.

195 EOL w/ Retumbo
175 ELDX Factory ammo
175 Elite Hunter w/ H1000
165 TGK w/ H4831SC

You must be loading those 195's very light. I have a 21" 7PRC and getting 3050 FPS. How many grains? Without that info it will be impossible to extrapolate any transferable info.

I'm screwing on a 23" 7prc in a few weeks and using 195's first. Your numbers give me hope.

I just went and looked-I stand corrected. MV is 2984 with 73 gr of Retumbo. I've got another 21" on the bench getting ready to be put together. Let me know how yours comes out!

what brass are you using? Those are insanely good numbers that I don't feel many will be able to replicate without popping primers and pounding open the bolt!

My results mirror your chart. Adg brass
20" barrel 180eldm hit 2822 with H1000 and 2850 with N570. Both giving good groups and low es/sd.
175 X are are 2800 with N570 bringing the best group.
