I see all these loads for Stabull and CFE-223 but I haven't heard anything from anybody that's truly note worthy. Certainly not enough to make me consider changing from Varget. When I look at load data for it doesn’t seem like there is another powder that really blows the doors of varget in the velocity department.
Seems varget is always the powder that comes up with that combo when someone mentions it.
Count me in for a read!Thank you. This hunt was a special/sad hunt for me. I may start a thread about it, but I’m not the best of writers. Lol
Thanks. I posted a write up over in the elk section under the title ‘a special/sad hunt.’Count me in for a read!
Big Game and Varget are all you need to know for the 7-08.
Yes, don't forget Staball 6.5!Preposterous!

One word of caution, I also started with fired .308 brass from another rifle, and after FL sizing the head space was still incorrect. Save yourself the same headache and make sure you either measure your chamber before loading the necked down brass, or buy/fire a cheap box of 7-08 so you can measure a fired round from the new barrel. I had to run all my .308 brass (Federal) back through the FL sizer again with it cranked down another turn and a half past the shell holder to get to the correct head space. My favorite round behind my 308s….. but may be my new favorite round after my next build, 708 (gonna rebarrel one of my older 308 into a 708, and use all the lapua brass i got for them 308s).
Thanks for the heads up. Appreciate it.One word of caution, I also started with fired .308 brass from another rifle, and after FL sizing the head space was still incorrect.
