7mm-08 Favorite Loads!

45 grains of RL15 under a 120 ttsx at around 3050fps was my go to for several years. Alas, I’m all out and can’t find anymore. I’ve gone to 51 grains of BG and 120 NBT and been happy. About the same velocity and similar or better terminal performance

Just sent off my REM 7600 to be rebarrelled in 7mm08 as an inside 200 yards rig for pigs & sambar.

I have a stash of 160 TMKs, 4350 and could only find Hornady brass.

Thoughts on going 20 or 18” barrel and 1:9 twist?

Thanks
Phil
Try some of this…

I'm shooting the 162eldm ~2720fps from a 19" barrel with H4350, IE not the highest velocity powder, there is room for gains with some others if desired. But that carries velocity out a good ways in the mountains.
Thats good to hear. My 22" 284 is shooting the 162's at 2785 and im about to chop it to 18/19 inches.

Somehow I missed this response. How many grains of 4350 are you using for this load? I have a jug on hand and would like to test in my rifle.

Roger that, I'm running 2.925 with LA bolt stop and mags in my Tikka.
I took a break from 7mm08 after plowing through a bunch of loads and testing different things.

I’ve screwed the barrel back on and just started playing around with H4350 and 150eldx, it played really nice with 162eldm.

I’m also trying out 162eldm and XBR8208 for shits and gigs. So far looks like a really good combo, but need to shoot it more.

150eldx 2.930”
162eldm 2.950”

I don't shoot it personally, its for a friend i reload for....And i don't have my exact recipe in front of me...

7mm-08

140gr Nosler Partition
Starline or Hornady Brass
Fed 210 primer
2.75 OAL
RL 16 46.5 grains (we bounce it between 46, 46.5 and 47 depending on the brass)
somewhere between 2875 and 2900 FPS with a 22" barrel.
Usually runs at or just under 1.25" group at 100yds for 10 shots.

Its based off the Alliant recipe. One stop easy button for his deer and elk hunting.
