Small sample size but shot a cow a couple weeks back with this bullet. Quartering to and a fairly close shot. She didn’t make it 5 yards, basically dead right there. Gutless method so didn’t get in to inspect things to close but there was significant blood trauma on both sides and all the way down the rib cage. It was pretty brutal.

I’ve read of some pencilling complaints but just make sure to check the tips and use the best ones for hunting, and the periodic weird/deformed one for practice. I’ll continue to use them

Good to hear. I'm putting my money on the Bergers this year. I haven't been let down by a Berger yet. Also planning on trying a 95gr Nosler BT. Curious about an 80gr barnes too just for shits and giggles. I'm using it on whitetail though.

For folks shooting factory 6CM 103 ELDX and 108 ELDM: what velocities differences did you notice between the 2 bullets? I’ll be building an 18” so curious what I could expect from a velocity standpoint.

The 103 eld-x is normally about 100 fps faster in a 24” 1:8 twist barrel. My last lot of 108 eld-Ms were 2950 avg 103 3050 avg
Eld-m from that lot were more consistent

Hornady 6 creedmoor is the only Hornady ammo I’ve shot that reached stated velocities

Sweet. Hopefully that means I’ll be in the mid to high 2800s with the 103 ELDX with an 18”. Thanks for the info.

I don’t watch any backfire stuff.

Mostly because I want the barrel life. And I already load it for my match rifles.

Thinking a 103eldx at 2750 would be nice.

80 eldvt for predators and varmints.
Backfire has really gotten under my skin.

I have 2 buddies that shoot dashers in BR competitions. They usually compete at the 300 yard line with rifles that are much too heavy for hunting off the road. I dug into the cartridge before, it will do great as long as you can sort out magazine feeding.
