124 yards. Factory 108 eldm. 140lb sow. Clipped the front of the scapula. No exit. Entrance is that spot of blood on the shoulder Already had a cooler full of venison so I only took the hams and backstraps. no autopsy pics.

Dropped right there, expired within 10s

I’m very aware of that man. This is just for illustration JFC.
I'm not trying to be argumentative, but I said the TMK specifically was better/even in the wind than the 95 NBT because it has a higher enough BC to overcome the MV difference, and then you provided charts showing the NBT to be better in the wind than a different bullet with a substantially lower BC than what was being discussed. What were you intending to illustrate?

That they are both close, and closer than I thought personally.

I really want a 243 1:8 tikka “for my daughter”, specifically the roughtech with the threaded 20” barrel. Fortunately or not I cannot find one.
I will agree with what Anschultz said about using a suppressor for your daughter. My first centerfire rifle was an 18” barreled Remington 600 in 243. I called that gun the fire-breathing dragon because it threw a 2+ foot ring of fire when you touched it off. The muzzle blast gave me flinches that took years to overcome.

Took a little 7pt with my .243 this year. 90gr ELD-X, MV around 3050 fps. Shot was 170 yds, quartering towards me. Wound channel through the heart, opposite lung was jelly, forward lung was untouched. He did a big jump, and ran ~30 yds. Bullet didn’t exit, found when skinning on the offside hide.

This is only my first time processing my own deer and analyzing the bullets performance. There was bloodshot meat all the way up through the neck - the only thing I can think is that a bullet fragment traveled this far up?

Overall, I’m happy with the killing performance, but a little disappointed with the amount of bloodshot meat, especially on a smaller deer. But this is my first time - is this amount of bloodshot meat normal?

is the meat actually bloodshot, or is it just blood throughout the connective tissue between muscles?

I'm 6 animals in now with the 6cm and 223 with match bullets after shooting a 30-06 and monos for years. I'm noticing a similar amount of blood in fascia tissue, but when doing final processing the meat itself is fine.

Great question, I’m not sure - again this is only my first time. How do you tell the difference?

cutting through the muscle it will be a much darker purple than the rest of the meat. If you clean off all the fascia and silverskin the meat under may be totally fine. I do my own processing and am pretty anal about getting all that stuff off.

Quick math on my 20" 6 creed, going from 108 to 109eldm only gains .1 mil less drop and .1 mil less drift at 600 yds, 6mph cross wind, 5kDA, 2900MV. That's only changing weight and BC, didn't figure MV change.

I was running a ballistic comparison on the 103 eldx vs the 105 bthp from hornady and 4dof was telling me that the 105 had more drop and drift with the same MV and a Higher BC out at distance. Is that even possible or was I messing something up on the calculator??

For me 108,105, and 103 all have same drop and drift at 600yd, 2900MV.

105 only lists g1 bc where as 103 and 108 list g1 and g7, maybe you had that crossed up when inputting?
