I took my 6 year old boy out a couple weekends ago for a spring turkey hunt here in Washington. He had been out hiking and checking trail cameras with me before, but this was his first official hunt. We were both super excited for this! My dad started taking me at age 6 as well. So this was a special moment.
We had a ton of opportunities at Toms, but the inability of a 6 year old to stay still cost us a few birds. I was totally fine with this as he learned a ton and we both had a ton of laughs.
By the end of our trip we were able to stalk this Tom and get one on the ground!
All in all, it was an amazing trip and I think my son, Hunter, may now be an addicted hunter himself!
