All good info. I appreciate everyone’s feedback. If anyone sees brass at a decent price, let me know.

I got a little over 3100fps with the 142 ABLR, groups weren't very good. 127 LRX grouped great at 3205fps. I've had great luck with ABLRs in other calibers, would like to get them to shoot in my backcountry. Looks like it's time to start working on it.

I've got one in the Weathermark LT, shot the factory 140 Hornady load in it in 2020 and 2021 deer seasons. 2 Bucks down with 2 shots. Currently have a batch of 140 Elite hunters loaded with LRT, just need to get to the range and see how they shoot. Have Retumbo also if it doesn't pan out.

I have the carbonmark, it shoots better than 1/2” at 100 yards all day long with factory accubond, I’ve duplicated the factory results with my own recipe and Berger VLD it’s really a sweet rifle, Weatherby has done a good job since they moved to Wy

I had a Weathermark LT. It shot the factory 127 lrx load the best at around 1/2 moa. The 140 accubonds were a solid 3/4 moa. My wife killed a nice mulie with the 127 lrx at around 200 yards. 1 shot. I killed a 5x5 bull elk with the 140 accubonds at 80 yards. Hit him twice but only needed the first shot, it did him in pretty good. Both bullets exited.
I worked up a load with a 124 hammer hunter and RL25 that shot pretty good, 1/2-3/4. It was fast, around 3250, out ran my 6.5 prc by 100 fps if I remember right, may have been faster. Pretty sure I just tossed all my targets and notes from that rifle last week. Really it is a pretty great round for fast and flat shooting.
Hey if you don’t mind me asking.. what is your recipe you use for the 124 hammer hunter?

Today I tried, 140 Nosler Partions, COAL 3.327, BR200 and 62,64,66 grains of RL25 with not much success groups were not sub MOA (just over) I have shot the Barnes factory with 1/2-3/4" MOA ...Should I try Retumbo? I am just getting into this reloading and would love any assistance.

Partitions, while a fine bullet, would not be my first choice for accuracy testing.

In my 2 rpms I'm having good luck with retumbo & imr 8133 with 127 lrx , 140 ab, 140 tmk, 143 eldx.

Fed 215M primers

The Weatherby factory barnes 127lrx load is us 869. Which is even slower burning than retumbo

can i get a starting point on powder grains for the 140 accubond? It would be helpful and maybe save a little cash trying too many loads..

I'm trying to decide between the RPM and 257WBY. Wondering if anyone has tried lighter mono's like a 99 Hammer in the 6.5 RPM? I like the speed of the 92 Hammers and 100 Barnes in the 257, but also like the versatility of being able to run 140 class in the RPM. I don't think I'd be debating these two if I were talking custom rifle as I'd go fast twist 257. I'm looking to pick up the new Mark V Apex. If the RPM can spit out a 99 Hammer at close to 257 speeds with 92 - 100gr pills, I think I'd go with it.

I don't have any hands on experience but will add here that the 257 WBY and 6,5 RPM have very similar case capacity so it wouldn't be a stretch to expect similar speeds with similar weight bullets.

It looks like the RPM cartridges will be the future for Weatherby at least from 338 down. I would expect over time they will offer a fast twist 257, 277, 7mm and 308 to go along with the 6.5 and 338 RPM rounds now. I don't expect the older Wby rounds to disappear either.
