Does anyone have any real world experience with this cartridge? Accuracy with factory ammo and or hand loads? Speeds with various powders and bullets?

I have read about everything I can find online, just looking for experiences from anyone on RS.

I have been shooting the Weathermark LT in 6.5 WBY RPM this past year. The only factory ammo I could find last year when purchasing the gun was the 140gr accubond and it shoots it sub moa and chronographed avg of 3066 last time at the range. I have recently purchased a bunch of accubond long range in 142gr and 150gr bullets that I am hoping to reload the next few months with IMR 4350 and H-1000 to see what I can get out of them. Shot an antelope at 380 yards and a mule deer at 420 yards this season and they went a combined total of 5 steps. Love my RPM so far!

Backcountry shoots 143 eldx and 140 sierra tgk sub moa over a case full of retumbo. 127 lrx shoots great too for work here in CA. The factory 140ab and 127 lrx shot great too.

I just picked up a Backcountry in 6.5RPM yesterday. I am planning on starting out with the 140gr Accubond over N570, and if that doesn’t work RE33 or Retumbo. I will hopefully know more in a few weeks

I had a Weathermark LT. It shot the factory 127 lrx load the best at around 1/2 moa. The 140 accubonds were a solid 3/4 moa. My wife killed a nice mulie with the 127 lrx at around 200 yards. 1 shot. I killed a 5x5 bull elk with the 140 accubonds at 80 yards. Hit him twice but only needed the first shot, it did him in pretty good. Both bullets exited.
I worked up a load with a 124 hammer hunter and RL25 that shot pretty good, 1/2-3/4. It was fast, around 3250, out ran my 6.5 prc by 100 fps if I remember right, may have been faster. Pretty sure I just tossed all my targets and notes from that rifle last week. Really it is a pretty great round for fast and flat shooting.

Retumbo, 8133 have shone the brightest with the 140s.
H1k, 7977 and N565 with the 124-130gr
N570 was a dud in my rifles, thankfully as it's tough to find and spendy.
Also I'm using fed 215m fwiw

When i was at Weatherby last spring I spent quite a bit of time discussing loads with their ballistician. He suggested retumbo for accuracy and 869 for higher velocity. The retumbo with a 215 primer works well in my RPM. I tried 869 but with a 210 primer, that was a no go. I'm going to try 869 again with a 215 primer. He also claimed they were seeing good results from magpro in some of their testing.

The factory ammo I pulled all had ball powder like us869. I'll take the stability of retumbo over the moderate velocity bump of 869

Bought a Weathermark LT last summer and love how it shoots on paper with the 127 lrx factory. Haven’t had an opportunity on game yet with it but that’s more user error than the gun. Only shot a whitetail last fall and I didn’t want that to be my first kill with it. It’s been a joy packing around the mountains though, 7.5lbs fully setup with a sling. I have no question it’ll perform when I need it to

Amassi and Mainbeam may have a point with Retumbo. N570 was clearly the best powder I tried in the 6.5-300 for accuracy and speed; 1/2 to 3/4 inch groups at 3490 with the 140AB. RE33 was one ragged hole in the 257 Bee with a 110 Accubond. Retumbo didn’t fair to well in either but just may be the ticket with case volume to bore diameter for the RPM with the shorter barrel. I haven’t found anything that liked 869 or LRT in the accuracy department but were good for velocity.

Is RL26 considered “too fast” I wonder? I would think it would do good for the lighter bullets.

Might net you some meager extra velocity but is too sensitive to temp changes for me. The burn rate is right though, I suspect h4831, imr4955 would work well with 120-130gr bullets

Worked up some starting loads for the Accubond LR 150gr bullets this morning for the RPM. Worked up from 57.5 grains and ended at 60.5 gr of H-1000 at 2837 no pressure signs. Ended there as that was all I had time to shoot and reload this morning. Will continue to load up from there but pretty pleased with my first pass with the 150’s so far. Can’t wait to see what it can do in the weeks to come.

I'll be interested to see where you end up with 150 ABLRs, I have some that I've been wanting to load up. I'm sure I'll get a little different result with the 24" barrel on my backcountry.

I have a Backcountry in 6.5 RPM.

Factory 127 LRX shoots well. Factory 140 Interlock doesn’t do well in my rifle.

I’ve been looking for Factory 140 Accubond to try but haven’t found any.

I’ve hand loaded 124 Hammer Hunters with excellent accuracy. I have some 143 ELDX and 147 ELDM to try.

Keep goin
Hodgdon went up to 63.0 with a 150 sierra hpbt for 3030fps.
Retumbo in my rifle got the 150 to 3100fps with no pressure.
Also the data on the hodgdon reloading data center is quite mild.
