The 6.5 CM has ubiquity in its favor; both in terms of rifles available and excellent ammo.
Whatever you do, suppress it.

That is totally irresponsible. That 6.5 won't have enough energy fir a clean kill at 950. My 7RM pushing the 155gr Terninal Ascent at 3090fps falls under 1500 ft lbs at 825 yd. That's more weight faster than that 6.5 so I would question ethics in his case.My buddy uses 6.5PRC on Elk at 950 yards. Uses the app, and dials in.
I personally love the CM for deer, antelope, even a moose.
Energy means nothing. If the bullet is traveling above it's minimum velocity required for upset(varies bullet to bullet) for eldm, eld x, most Bergers, minimum velocity required is 1800 fps. That is totally irresponsible. Totally irresponsible results in dead Elk. I watched him do it on a bedded Elk. I can't do it, but he's comfortable. I'm not. Each his own. That is totally irresponsible. I have shot some elk with 44 revolvers without any problem so I always chuckle when I see that 1500 ft lb minimum thrown out there. There is a lot more involved in killing than impact energy. That is totally irresponsible. That 6.5 won't have enough energy fir a clean kill at 950.
