The 130tmks are another option with the 1800ish threshold. That kind of sucks and negates the reason to use them then. I wish the 130eldm was better.

Yea that's kind of the default. I'm trying to find something better. The 130tmks are another option with the 1800ish threshold.
Better how?Yea that's kind of the default. I'm trying to find something better.
Does anyone have experience with the Berger 130 vldh or 135 classic hunter? Previous experiences with berger have been good for me. Looking at the 130 class bullet for the 18" 6.5cm. BC on both is better than the 130 tmk. Trying to eek out as much as possible. Are these still good down to 1800? I'm thinking they also may be a better choice at closer ranges/higher velocities, given past experiences.

1900ish fps impact velocity at 645 yards using 130 vld-h. Deer did not take a step and this is the exit. They shot better than the 130 TMK's in my gun and have almost half a point better bc's. So far an elk, a mule deer and 4 coyotes with them.
Better bc.Better how?
It's pretty rare that I ever gut an animal. This one was done gutless as well. Were the insides jello?
You're right that we don't hear too much about the 150 gr ABLR. What speed do you get with it in your 6.5 CM and 6.5x55? I really want to try those 145 gr TGK's as well in our 260 and 6.5x55.My contribution this year. 6.5 creed in a Kimber Hunter, 150 gr Accubond Long Range.
Buck #1 is a TN buck, shot at about 75 yards hard quartering to. Bang flop.
Buck #2 is a PA Buck shot at about 60 yards broadside. Bang flop.
3 WT does succumbed to the same rifle/bullet/load. Distance 20 feet to 50 yards. None went more than 30 yards after the shot. Bullets fully penetrated with much carnage between entry and exit.
Im not sure why the 6.5/150 ABLR isn't more popular in the 6.5s. I've prob shot 10-12 deer and an elk with that rifle and load. Elk was quartering to at about 50 yards. I tucked it inside her right shoulder. She went 75 yards but most of it was down a very steep slope, bouncing off trees. Bullet didn't exit but blood was very easy to follow.
I like the 6.5 creed so much, I rebarreled a Kimber Montana 84L to 6.5x55. It likes the 150 ABLR, 145 TGK. Im trying the 147 ELDM next. I 'spect it'll work![]()
I'm moving up to 6.5 from .22. My .223 worked fine but 6.5cdm makes me happy. Will there be any pics in here for next season, or has everybody migrated to 6/22?
135 CH is under-rated IMO. Seems to shoot well in lots of guns. I only killed one deer with it and it performed well.Does anyone have experience with the Berger 130 vldh or 135 classic hunter?
