Got this guy at 656 yds using Hornady CX hand loads.
What was the impact velocity of that CX?
I'm not sure.
So you’re shooting animals at >650 yards and have no idea of your velocity? Are you not using a ballistics calculator?

At 650 yards you’re looking at 100+ inches of drop… how’d you figure out what to dial ?No calculator. No chrono.
How did you know what to dial? The elk went down quick. Took a few steps then fell. Didn't take any internal pictures. One bullet hit a rib and busted through.
Shooter Ready...How did you know what to dial?

I don’t mean to be rude, but this is a really terrible idea and gives hunters a bad reputation. You shouldn’t “guess” on animals.Took a guess on the hold over. Saw the impact of the first round was low. Adjusted off of that and the next 2 shots hit.

What is your load for the 123gr ELDM in your Grendel. I’m going to hunt eastern whitetails with one this fall. The 6.5 Grendal was shooting 123 gr ELDM bullets. Impact velocity was probably in the 2200fps range (close range bear bait, 12 inch pistol).
