Just got my first 6.5cm.
Looking at picking up some ammo to start shooting it.Seems the 143 eldx is pretty favorable.
Would it be a safe bet to start there.

Hi, congratulations on your first 6.5 CM. That is a great overall North American Big Game round, if you can certainly find some, grab it and see how your Rifle likes it. Most times for factory ammo you'll find one or two that your barrel likes better than others, like my 6.5 CM favors the Federal Fusion 140gr. but does like the Hornady ELDX 143gr. as well.

that's a reasonable price, I was paying 55-60 per box last april-july. the precision hunter 143 eldx is the best factory ammo i've ever shot, definitely worth trying a box to see how your rifle likes it.

I’ve been hunting with my 6.5 CM (Browning X-Bolt) for three years, and I use 143 gr ELD-X. They group better than other ammo that I tried and certainly under 1 MOA. I have had some inconsistency with the ammo which is not uncommon given the need for companies to crank out as much ammo as possible for the last few years. The velocity range is too great and definitely affects the groups. Also, I went to take a shot at a deer, and “click”…bad primer. That has only happened once though and I’ve shot close to 200 ELD-X rounds through it.

Those shot well out of my 6.5 but I prefer different bullets. I have maybe ten boxes of the precision hunter stuff but I like to load accubonds and hammer hunters for my rifle.

Hunting ammo out to 600,mainly whitetail.I would like to practice quite a bit with my hunting round as well.I have been wanting to learn to dial and picked up a nxs 2.5x10 .
I just ordered a case,my buddy decided to keep his but told me were there were a few cases.I called and they had one for 379 total shipped to me.

I would start with the Precision hunter. I took my 6.5 to a long range school and shot 10 boxes of it hitting targets easily at 1000 yards. It's fairly consistent for factory ammo. Your rifle might not like it but it sees to work well enough in most rifles.

I don't think I've heard of a rifle that didn't like the ELD-X 143. Mine shoots it amazingly well. My primary hunting round is the Normal Bondstrike though and my rifle shoots that every bit as good.

My tikka liked those 143 eldx and heavier bullets pretty good. I am pushing copper monos through it for preference reasons, which lighter and don’t group quite as well. Accuracy is still very good and they are super effective On the deers.

I've been pretty happy with all kinds of 6.5CM ammo I've purchased. From the top tier to some brands people will dismiss on name alone. Your rifle will tell you what to shoot, just listen.
