I have the “wants” real bad, however I must be maturing in my mid 50’s and instead of buying a new encore barrel or a new $4K thermal or build a 22 CM I plan on purchasing 3K rounds of ammo for practice.

I have purchased 1K rounds before and were delivered in 5 different lots of the same ammo.
Is there a method to insure at least 1K is in a single lot?
Once I am sighted in I don’t want to make any changes. I intend to shoot out a barrel.

Ammo will be PSA AAC 6.5 CM 140 blacktip and PSA AAC 556 75 blacktip.

These both shoot well in my primary 6.5 and my trainer Tikka 223.

What is the secret sauce to obtaining as many rounds as possible of the same lot?

Assume you are ordering? I have In the past called and spoken to a genuine person, asked them, and they instructed me to place the order with a note and follow up with them after order placed, and they made sure I got all same lot. Obviously that depends on where you order from.

I don't worry about it. I sort it by lot and then, shoot it in that order. I might have to change my zero on the next lot, but it doesn't kill me.

If you can manage 10 cases that would take care of any 6.5 CM in existence for barrel life.

223 should last 3500-5500 rounds.

Note on the order requesting same lot can help, or calling as above.

Agreed - I wouldn’t worry if you have a couple different lots of 1,000 rounds each. You may only have a minimal change between lots.
