I shot 4 white tails this season with a 6.5CM 140gr Accubonds. 80yds, 126yds, 184yds, 209yds. Only the 80yd shot was a pass through. The deer was walking towards me, the shot entered just left of chest center and exited out the butt end. Everything inside was not identifiable. All 4 deer took zero steps after being hit and only gave a few tail twitches. I lent the rifle to a buddy whose scope crapped out and he shot two, 280yds 255yds. No pass through s but again the deer did not take a step. 20 guys in camp, 12 shooting 6.5CM with 4 shooting Accubonds. All had one shot DRT kills. Guys using Hornady Precision Hunter with the 143gr ELDx all had similar one shot, DRT kills. The guides expressed concerns about the round not leaving a blood trail, but he didn't have to track any deer for us. Just keep putting the Accubond in the right spot and you don't have to worry about a blood trail.I have shot a mule deer and 3 whitetails. All shots were right behind the shoulder. The last buck I shot was only 75yds. THey all died within 50yds, my only problem is there is no blood trail at all. Small entrance wound and no exit. It took me awhile to find the last deer because he was in thick brush. Is the Creedmoor enough to go for the double shoulder shot? Should I switch bullets? THinkind about just going with a 7mm.
