Just re-read this thread, we need more threads like this one. Very exciting all the way through. It's also a fine testament to the effort involved in long range hunting.
'Best hunting season'.... YEAH. It was AMAZING. NOT.
Sounded like an awesome trip and this thread was great as a field journal and in bringing us along with you. Wish you'd have got the kill shot on video. What was the final score on that moose? That was one of the best hunting seasons of my life. You simply can't put into words how many emotions where involved in a hunt like that!
It almost cost me a wife, Stupid Mooses
Oh come on now, you survived and got got a full freezer too.'Best hunting season'.... YEAH. It was AMAZING. NOT.

The best part is after 17 years of being married she started hunting last year! Which I must say really surprised me. We now have several hunts planned this year. Didn't see that coming....Women are truly an enigma!
Jealous?
Watch out ! If she pulls a moose tag her and her girlfriends are going hunting for 40 days while you take care of the kids .
That's awesome. If only she'd have hunted with you that year, 40 days after a moose would have been much easier on the both of you.
Well I can't brag the 17 years you and Ryan have but we're working on our 6th married and 8th together. My old lady trips when I'm gone a week, she'd freak at 40. She used to tag along quite a bit even when she didn't hunt and it was easier on her.You sound like a smart guy that has been happily married for a long time!

I was just giving you hell Tanya, it's what us Green Bay fans do to you Dallas supporters . I recognize the hardships all to well and I catch the same hell for it at home.Glad you were able to redeem yourself with your last posts. I wasn't being negative, I was being realistic. Anyone that has a family should understand its a hardship for 1 of the adults to be gone 40 days. There was much childcare drama etc and I will take my sanity over a freezer with meat thank you. Ryan admitted LONG ago buying meat at the store was MUCH cheaper than hunting! All I'm saying is it's easy for you guys on these trips to lose sight of all things going on at home and not appreciate the people taking care of it so you guys can experience your 'Amazing, emotional journey.
